WTF man??

The idea of Manly wearing those jerseys is to say we are an all inclusive Club.

Then 7 players run out with the normal jerseys?!!
The idea of Manly wearing those jerseys is to say that as a corporate that they believe in being inclusive.

By allowing people to show that they have different opinions (no matter how how ill informed and divisive you and I might find those opinions) is also a measure of inclusivity; that you can have a different perspective and play here.

The point is that inclusively is not an absolute concept. You can't include everyone in an individual promotion. To say its about inclusivity then ridicule those who disagree is kind of not inclusive and thats because it's not absolute. We can't have mature discussions about these things due to emotional responses.

Manly have been ridiculously naive in assuming that all their players are on board. Some are likely all in and very supportive, others ambivalent and others against. That's life.

3 of the players have backflipped and said they will now wear the jersey. lol

Also, the Pride jersey has sold out with fans buying them all up overnight.

I would sack the lot of them and have the NRL deregister them.

Imagine Joe Average deciding not to show up for work because he does not like the new corporate uniform. The reason for objection is irrelevant.

Find a new employer, I recommend Kickby union.

Farging pander to these spoilt brats and get what you deserve. Sack the lot, go play another sport.
Might as well be hung for a pound as a penny, as Ned Kelly would say.

Isn’t this round dedicated to women of league? - not being a smart arse but why not have a pink instead of rainbow 🌈
Another storm in a teacup - there should be a round for the homeless - the amount of rubbish media this gets and we still have a bulk of people, too many, living on the streets.

How about the LGBTQIA homeless women’s and men that don’t work good round?

Has anyone thought that they might be against furries, and they just don’t agree with the lifestyle of furries. As it goes against their values of someone acting out like an animal.

I can see what Manly were trying to do and good on them but what a poorly executed initiative. This would have been us in the past, so glad it’s not

I work in Marketing. I can just imagine the marketing team meeting at Manly Leagues Club this morning. To be a fly on the wall.

I’m personally really looking forward to the ‘People who like wearing Oodies’ round, which is scheduled for the second weekend of pre-season games next year.

Wayne Bennett has agreed to appear in promotional material..

Tim Sheens is still considering it.

A good way to enable your company to proclaim “First run SOLD OUT BY POPULAR DEMAND” is to only produce 50 units…

Ian Roberts and his boyfriend could afford 25 each.

I wonder what would happen if all the Polynesians and anyone of faith stood down for the round in show of solidarity?

that'd be awkward

It would be fascinating to see how the organisation would sort this out. Their would likely be plenty of blame being tossed around.

It's a shame for the marketing folk as it's clear they were trying to do something they thought would be positive. They didn't consult stakeholders and so it got messy quickly.

I found it strange that Dessie fronted the press conference instead of someone from the commercial side like the CEO.
