not sure on no1, spend more time with his new family maybe, speculation, he made his mind up at the begiining of the season, waited for the right time,
don't think doust would have forced him out,
maybe kyle stanley will be the front runner, can't see chase in that position just yet.maybe more of a bench backrower.

I didn't get to see the press conference today; just a few quick questions:

1. Dis gasnier give a reason for retiring ? & what was it ?
2. In your oppinion is he being forced out ? or he is going out on his merits?
3. Any ideas who his replacement will be? stanley from melbourne maybe ? or is there any young guns in your lower grade who are ready to replace him?

If there is a thread for this can you please merge it.

Thanks.

X.

Gee all those blokes that were forced to leave the Stains because of Cap restriction would be very happy right now.

How long was he signed for with the big back end.

I'm a bit torn on the retirement. Wish him well, but geez we lost some players in the process.

I was thinking about Gaz's best moments:
- The try last year against manly in the finals - good to see a step, and gaz running 80 metres at Kogarah
- That origin match against Inglis when he tore him to shreds
- His try on debut in newcastle
- His ability to make defenders look ordinary - especially Tigers defenders (didn't he get four in a match once)
- A game against the Warriors at Wollongong, he put this move on that blew many away
- Any time he got the flick pass right
- And of course his GF try

Who did we loose by signing Gaz ? J Smith was given a chance to get a 3 year superannuated contract with Sharks. Neville may have stayed but also may have left with Wayne. In any case he has been injured much of this year.

Would we try to get Linnett back ?

Kyle Stanley will probably be our centre now and Moltzen out the back, he's a good player Moltzen. Perhaps in 2012/13 we may see some big name signings we still have a very strong team IMO.

1. Moltzen
2. Nightingale
3. K. Stanley
4. Cooper
5. Morris
6. Soward
7. Hornby
8. Hunt
9. Fein
10. Weyman
11. Scott
12. Creagh
13. Prior
14. Young
15. Merrin
16. Greenfield
17. King

A team something like this will still be very competitive, I believe Kyle Stanley will shine in 2012. You then have guys like Goodwin, Tagive, Rein and Marketo waiting in the wings.

Read this on twitter from the Triple M NRL folks..

Doust: we have money but it doesnt mean we'll be chasing an outside centre. Kyle Stanley is a big piece of our future #nrl #redv

That suggests Moltzen is fullback with Stanley in the centres I think.

I'm sure that the hospital beds at St George would however be relieved
Have you noticed how many games respective "blokes" have played since leaving the club?
Smith and Costigan aren't getting any younger either Quigs
Just for fun I Googled Kane Linnett got
Kane Linnett injury
Kane Linnett Roosters
Kane Linnett injured 2011
Kane Linnett dropped
Kane Linnett injured
Seriously!
Dean Whare is tearing it up in NSW cup
And was that three tries scored by Saints RHS attack in GF (they're those games they play at the end of the season BTW)
Paying unders to Snowden and Douglas so you could improve your bench really sets you up in a position to comment doesn't it.
Good to see that you guys have a glimmer of hope though Quigs
Consecutive victories over
The Dogs (coach quit today)
Titans (last on the ladder) but did beat us with only ten players out
Rabbitohs (NSW cup side)
Faders (surely played the worst game of the season 3 weeks in row)
So enjoy that brief shard of sunlight, no matter how dim (pardon the double entendre)
And lift your game, you can do better than this.

Will hopoate would be a nice target when he return.

Josh Morris will be back.

Seek a release from the dogs to return.

Not sure about stanley and moltzen in starting team. Defensively dicey!!
Losing boys is a killer.
