Well better to discuss it here than inside the match thread. Personally I'm curious as to how a rookie NSW skipper was able to call the shots to a Qld player in regards to full time, in the match thread and without the referee's consent.

Yeah sure, but in the spirit of harmonious play I assumed, obviously wrongly, that because those blokes weren't able to get a team by Saturday, then we would just say okay. I wasn't able to get to a computer earlier so I missed our standing strictly to the law.

I totally let the team down and can offer no excuse ... again, apologies to all.

As far as the week turnaround is concerned, that was not my problem and I am not an advocate of changing it as has been suggested ... just my very tight schedule which I wrestle with every week :-(

I think we need to have a back-up "official" when the allotted individual is indisposed though.
