MASON wants OUT

On fox sports news, said pretty much what has been said, that there are differences over Mason wanting to have a professional fight just after Christmas and not only missing the Grand Final lunch but other events also which he didnt get into. Noad is waiting to meet with Mason or his manager and see where it goes from there, doesnt sound great.

If Mason does not want to play with us, we should not grant him a release and do the same as what the Eels did with Lyon and make him sit out 2 years or something

Did they say if this was an outcome of the press conference or just general day old news

I disagree, you should let him go and use the money you would pay Mason on someone to actually play footy. Hell you could buy a few promosing young players for the money Mason commands.

Making him sit out 2 years and pay him 900k to do so (if 450k is what he is really on) is petty and a waste of money.

The dogs have far more problems on the field to throw that kind of money away.....

That is the way Noad would be looking at it. He did say that if Mason wants out, he's gone

Didn't the eels release him though?

BTW, posted this in another thread....

Interview with Malcolm Noad about this situation...

lol finnuest bit of that interview is when noad says in regards to Willie saying its him or me, 'you wouldnt go and say that to your management would you' and TK or the other bloke goes 'uuuuuummmmm nup' - I guess you have to hear it, its in a funny tone and cracked me up.

such a waste of $450,000. you guys could use that for so many different and better things

i would do the same though. but i would also say "f**k ya, no matter what you're not playing you won't be given a call up" he can't just demand demand demand and then not get his way and say ahhh lets forget about the whole thing

Mason is employed by the Canterbury club. One thing is for sure he does not repect any people in authority. If it was not Noad it would be some other CEO he would be arguing with .Canterbury would be better off punting him.

On channel 10 news it was reported that Mason is threatning the club by saying if his demands are not met, there are 3 or 4 players willing to join him in leaving.

wow... thats a big call, wonder if the club will have the balls to call his bluff, im betting not, because the players are most likely the Matua/SBW types, rather then the Sherwin/Hughes types

Sounds more like an extortion or hostage situation than footy to me.

I don't want to read the whole thread (Willie's not worth my time), but I've got a question:

Has anyone mentioned that if Big Willie had actually played as well as he talked this year then there wouldn't be any crisis? If the Dogs won the comp (which Willie claimed they were capable of) then all would be sweet.

And now his manager is just as bad - claiming 4 of them will walk.

Talk it up you clowns.
