Kepoa is a centre/2nd Row. If we lose a prop early then Papili or Blore can switch to the middle rotation and Kepoa can slot into 2nd row. His ability to play centre also covers injuries to the entire backline, including Halves (Laurie shifts to halves, Staines to FB and Naden to wing).

This is all just a worse case scenario. If no injuries the 5 middle forwards we have will form a strong rotation. Klemmer, Twal and Joffa are all very capable of playing big minutes.

Given that this will be the first game together for a few of our players I'm guessing they won't all be switched on to what Api might do. With the new emphasis on offloads and passing I don't expect that will be spot on straight away either. Probably some passes that go to ground etc. I will be quite happy if we scrape home by 2 points knowing we will improve as the season goes on.

There will be usual 15 minutes of stage fright we tend to endure. There should be an enforced chill.

Otherwise we have some experience and we should see something gelling by half time.

It's at fortress Leichardt (well, it is now), we got this.

Yeah, this is the best pack we’ve had in years but an interesting mix too

The seniors aren’t too old or they still function.

The youth not too young or too stupid.

I’m glad Charlie is getting a run because his second trial showed determined improvement.

It also shows his mental strength and he is where he needs to be. You’d prefer to start the season with clean slate. You kinda want to bottle that.

I like Charlie’s size and height. I’d be doing 3 hour drills with him every week with a high ball as another attacking option.

All the reports say the players seem to be getting on with each other within the friendly yet formal environment.

Paps looks ominous.

We go in as favourites, normally that seals our fate. The kiss of death. We are not massive favourites which is to our liking.

I’ve been waiting 4 years for this weekend, just based on the side we’ve assembled.

It’s not marquee with a $300k fullback and Tommy and tackling are words that should never be used in the same sentence.

But it’s something to start with.

Brooks is my biggest worry tbh. The wrx filled with aged e10 mixed with rainwater.

And @macnaz, can you take some photos for us from your gold plated beloved member ticketed seat up behind the scoreboard?

Next to the domestic animal stand. One of Justin’s new ideas for the yuppies. $50, puppies $32.50

“Horace”, we are minding him for a lady who is in hospital.

As the esteemed luwt panel knows, the 3 day stay soon turns into indefinite but there’s nothing that can be done about it.

He’s not very good with the cat.

TSP, if that spadoodle doesn't like your cat . . . worry not my friend.
Soon, the cat will realise that it has smarts way beyond that dog.
It will lay in ambush and only reveal itself when it launches a single handed classic pincer movement. Well, single pawed, at least.
It will own that dog, and he will tread cautiously for the rest of his stay at palace de Silverdale.
Those cute dogs also fetch good coin.
It's nice to have options . . . just sayin'

Api times: Tigers expect to see instant Koroisau impact

As he begins his second coming as Wests Tigers coach, Tim Sheens believes new captain Api Koroisau has the ability to have a transformative effect on the club and become one of their greatest hookers.
Sheens will take charge of his 250th Tigers game on Sunday when the Gold Coast Titans roll into Leichhardt Oval.

After picking up their maiden wooden spoon last year, the Tigers begin the 2023 NRL season with new-found optimism after the recruitment of Koroisau, Isaiah Papali'i, John Bateman and David Klemmer.

Three-time premiership winner Koroisau will captain the club for the first time after joining from Penrith in the off-season.
The Panthers' attack was noticeably clunky in their round-one defeat to Brisbane on Friday, and Sheens is hoping the Fijian hooker can impart his crafty guile on the Tigers.

"It starts at No.9, he handles the ball more than anyone else on the field and he has a huge influence," Sheens said.
"Whether you can adapt to another system depends on the style of play.
"I'm not worried about what's happening at Penrith, I'm worried about how we're going here.

"I didn't think I'd see another hooker as good as Robbie (Farah) here at this club and Benny Elias prior to that at Balmain.
"Api certainly fills that gap for us, he organises from No.9 and that takes the pressure off the No.7 and No.6.
"He's definitely shown that he's going to have an influence on every game."
The Tigers have promised to play expansively but Sheens warned there will be teething issues.
"The players, they've got to learn their idiosyncrasies and that takes time," he said.

"We'll use the ball a bit but no more than any other team, we're encouraging them to move the ball."
The only absences for the Tigers this weekend are Bateman (ankle) and winger Ken Maumalo (knee).
Sheens said he was in no rush to get Bateman on the field after his arrival from the UK last week.
"If there was a grand final next week, he'd play," Sheens said.
"He's not a rookie, he doesn't need to be pushed to risk further injury."

We had him shorn:

The lady’s family got back to us, she’s having more tests.

I hope we don’t have to inherit him.

His new anaemic look reminds me of the Panthers without Api.
