Well, game day is finally here.

Must admit I am feeling nervous as I'm getting too old for another shit season of failure.

Though I do think this season will be our best in a long while, the trouble is, I think that most seasons.

I'm not expecting that we will win the comp, I just want the chosen team to be competitive each game and win more than we lose and get us to the finals.

That would stop the finals drought shit that the press love to bag us about.

I'm not a fan of Sheens, but I hope he is the answer to our woes.

We won't make the 8 but Im confident that we'll be better on the proviso that our spine is healthy.

We will be better than last year, as it won't be hard to achieve that, but if we don't make the 8, then we haven't really achieved anything as we were perennial 9th finishers there for a while.

Anyway, it is what it is, and we can't do anything about it, except hope.

We won't be better just in ladder position, we'll be better in the way we play. After the state the club was in at the end of last season, I would absolutely take 9th spot this year. I obviously would love them to play finals but we need to remember how much of a shambles we were in six months ago. This rebuild WILL take time. We still have glaring weaknesses in a few positions. I'll be happy with improvement AND further good recruitment over the next six months or so.
The Canberra trial I think has inflated the expectations of a few. Gold Coast will be a tough out today.

I’m predicting rain, it’s clouding over. Should suit us.

Fedora under threat from becoming flaccid.

@Wizardman thesis seems about right. A bit too patient for me but.

3 or 4 weeks to learn how to play together, but you never know with some of the fresh meat we have, the pack is outstanding on paper with more honey to come.

Tim wants Api in full control, taking pressure off the likes of Brooks who is not up to it and letting Doogie create.

Tim also said the first clump of games will be played more simply until the players understand each other’s styles better. I’m not sure if this a ruse.

He threw defence back to Furner and co. As you would to escape any liability there lol.

Bateman not playing largely because he hasn’t got all the play calls in the head. I think they underestimate him.

Tim quick to mention how grateful everyone is to see him. Nice touch given the cat fight at the raiders.

This is a Madge free zone - relax. Packs win games. even Brookes isn’t bad enough to reverse that, today anyway .. and the backs look ok, if not potentially very good. I’m only worried about injuries and HIA’s

All of it is Madge’s Pack except Klemmer isn’t it?

Madge on show today in spirit at least.

I meant just not having madge around:during the preseason, the previous week, game preparation and during the game…Madge free zone..so many things that changes for the positive …much more than you would first think..he has been exorcised..

He’s the living and breathing embodiment of this squad.

it’s his squad and no one else’s.

Nothings changed. Who’s starts with a second rate hooker when you got a champion hooker. Ridiculous
In fairness Simpkins was close to the best on the field while he was there. I guess the idea was Api couldn’t go 80 so would rather have him out there at the end rather than the start

If Talau didn’t knock on twice over the line (both tough chances) things would look a bit different. But very clunky out there

Agree, so far nothing much has changed.
The usual suspects are doing shit as they normally do.
Obviously we need a good second half.

I reckon not even 2% of our passes are hitting the players on the chest. What the f**k am I watching? Are the players instructed to pass before every run?

I've just started remembering a lot of stuff from 2012 I had long forgotten

Here we go an again what a bunch of f**kin losers. Long season ahead. If my heart wasn’t already busted. It would be annihilated now. And they can get stupid Steve Roach off the commentary.
