I still can’t see how AD can be our long term fullback. We won’t beat any top teams with him in that position. He’s a decent player but too slow for fullback. Put Mbye or Brooks in...or buy someone, I don’t care.
We need to have Mbye & AD swap positions.I was surprisingly impressed with Mbye at fullback.Fullback could very well be his best fit for the team & id luv to b the winger playing outside of AD as the centre. He has very good game awareness as was evident in his junior days at 5/8.He obviously isn’t a fullback & unfortunately lacks the speed necessary to b a no.1.

I don’t know how you could be anything but proud of that

The team is absolutely turning a corner in regards to toughness

We were missing 6 of our starting 17 and lost 3 guys to injury, copped a 8-2 penalty count, 3-1 set restarts and had 21% of possession for the first 25 mins of the 2nd half against the team coming 2nd

Any 2012-2019 WTs side concedes 50

Honestly if we had a fullback who knew how to catch and wasn’t completely cluessless in positioning we probably win

We debuted a kid who looks an out and out star. Next week Twal, Mikaele, Garner and Reynolds are back. Bj the week after

Good things are coming

We look a different team to me. We don't have the talent of the top teams but we look to be building really well and we aren't far off now.

Straight swap ..(Mbye was at fullback last year but yes it would have been surprising) ...Sounds simple enough..Hopefully for Madge too

I don’t know Das, I watched it again and think because Guthrie holds his head the ref sees Packer and that’s it.

Watched Ch 9 after game so and Fittler said he wasn’t sure about it as well.

You may be right. .hope so. He has to know that he's got a flashing light on his head with the refs and be smart in the rough and tumble. ..if he could maintain this form. .and he well may under madge as he certainly looks the fittest he's ever been at any club , well then he'd be an automatic re-signing

Yeah, Muhammad has always been my favourite athlete, that would have been sensational meeting him, were you competing?
I changed because a 26yo scored his first NRL try, some of them never give up, do they

Certainly not competing. Can do a lot of sports, well when I was younger I could, but average at them all.

No, I was working at the games and had to do security for Muhammad Ali in the morning and Venus and Serena Williams in the arvo. They were much younger then but they were really nice....although not as rich as they are now.

He's not a natural fullback. Yes he's a decent ball player, but he doesn't follow the ball through the middle like natural ball runners do. I'm not sure whether him being out of position on the Moses try was due to defensive structure being coached or not, so I won't be too critical on that one.

I just wish we stopped trying to manufacture fullbacks out of halves.

It's a curious thing. ..he"s said he studies tedesco yet never pushes up through the middle in support of Grant who splits them at least once every set...with all his faults at least Mbye would be there. Hodgson would be having the time of his life out there with Harry.

how so ? did he get behind and bend the neck down ?
gutho milked it

I'd need to see it again but it looked like he held him then quickly dropped some weight on him and bent his head sideways . .it wasn't sustained.
.just a quick push but he got him. The other one by either Talau or Blore or whoever was total nonsense

As would Tedesco or Papenhuyzen. I do like how Doueihi is rarely dominated on a kick return, but I haven't really seen his fullback play improve much. Maybe it's like Tiger Ted said and it's time for a swap or maybe Mbye can slot into fullback in the middle of sets.

You know what was fantastic????!

That Matterson getting knocked the f!!k out by the bloke we all hate to love. Packer made every dollar of his contract taking that punk out!!! It was worth more than the two points:joy:
Packers hit on Mad son was ok ..Packer thought he was acting hurt.. (And he was carrying the ball)

When we have BJ, Twal, Mikale and Garner all back in the squad we will be in much better shape. The issues still seem to be strike power and goalkicking. I like AD, and am willing to persist with him for now but I think he might lack the pace to be the attacking fullback we need him to be.

I love Nofa but fk me, there was three occasions we made a break on the right and he wasn't there.

Overall I'm fine with the effort - to be honest I didn't expect much more. We gave it our all but we just don't quite have the pace and class that Parra have. Getting to see Matterson floored by Packer was enough for me
