the Newcastle backs are rubbish
Have you seen Bradman Best ?

To think, the Knights gave Best a chance, no swapping his position, no dropping him based on one bad game. He's not rubbish.

The Aust Schoolboys side of 2018 included, Zac Cini (who the Tigers haven't even tried and I think from memory was the players player on the tour of the UK), Tommy Talau (who has been moved from centre to wing, dropped etc) & Jock Madden.

Realistically the players carry on like girls, look at Benji still bagging us because he is butt hurt we cut him but you have to know how to work with what you got. Seems like Madge may be struggling with that.
I'd love to see us cut all the passengers and just give kids and people who will bust a gut a go. I'm not saying we go chasing Thommo again but blokes like that are who we need.

Give everyone 6 weeks and if they don't put in ( yep you BJ) off to reggies for the rest of the year and only blokes that have a go will be picked. It may cost us a year, heck maybe two but at least you can be proud of the efforts and it will end this piss weak, soft cock attitude that has permeated this club for far far too long.

Either that or find someone like Bennett who can work with all the egos, and good luck finding that.

That underscores my concern with Madge atm, he’s not a bad person or coach, but so far this season he’s not coping in these second halves in terms of effort. On the balance, the performance in round 2 was far worse than round one regardless of opposition.

It’s a lonely place for him and I’m thinking he might need some extra assistance to steady the ship before the season slips away with zero improvement or actual regression, let alone winning.

It seems he doesn’t have the answers right now. He may in a few weeks time and I’m not ready to sack him, but he had no real answers for last week.

We can’t afford another player milestone either IMO.

I’m glad to see the back of BJ, but in all fairness he is not the entire problem, any way hopefully we will see some sort of improvement in the team this week, although I’m half expecting Mitchell Pearce to have a blinder and than being mentioned for a SOO recall.

Agree, BJ is not the entire problem and as Gordsy said "I'm not saying we go chasing Thommo again but blokes like that are who we need" Pearce would be one guy who would put in, love him or hate him, you cannot deny his competitive spirit.

Remind me again how Benji bagged the club again

Bj is not the only problem, imho most of them are off kilter.

Knights are too short at $1.32

Two dreadful games involving the complete breakdown of game plan, woeful performances and little discipline.

No known chronic physical impediments to players to at least provide us with factory.

The only reasonable conclusion to be drawn is a failure in coach/ player communications.

Logic dictates that Madge avails himself of professional advice and assistance pronto.

Could just be a small part of the prep that isn’t working. Just some tinkering about required.

But a fresh mind might help identify the issues.

It could be done on the quiet so as not to embarrass or hurt anyone.

He just can’t be expected to play with Brooks for too much longer.

This kid will play origin one day and in so doing will wipe that silly smirk from your face.

Swept under the carpet a bit but Laurie got a dally m point, third best player on field in his second game in the nrl in a side which was flogged to death.

I can’t see Momo anywhere near his potential.

Look at his comments re Madge the other day and when he left.
A recent Madge bag ..bugger I missed it. You did refer to recent Benji in your original post.. Hopefully I’ll stumble over it but I’m guessing it was mild and Benji showed way more class than the other 2 that departed

I thought that someone reported the farce in the points allocation, because Luke Keary received zip. Here:

The Dally M’s controversial points-scoring system is under fire again after Sydney Roosters halfback Luke Keary’s masterclass against the Wests Tigers went unrewarded.

Laurie, may have been the Tigers best, but certainly not the 3rd best on field, except in the opinion of Thaiday.

I think all stuff like this is subjective. I don't like it when Benji does it because he is way more calculating then the others and has a bigger profile. Still not much you can do about it.

Warriors would do us by 20 ATM and were no sure thing to do the dogs either

disagree

we’d do the dogs fairly easily imo

warriors have been playing an extremely simplistic game plan, basically 5 hit ups a set. We’ve been getting killed out wide and they don’t shift it. I’d back us over them

I like Doueihi

One thing I will say though is I’ve never seen a guy kick the ball off the side of his boot so often. Not sure why but it happens way too much with him
