Can people really not see that it's pretty terrible that the Tigers, who have a dreadful roster, may lose a gun junior to the defending premiers? It's not good for the competition. Maybe we are a micky mouse club, but how the hell are we supposed to get off the bottom of the table and grow if a burgeoning superstar is poached by one of the competition's heavyweights?

Ok, so for those of us who don't know the hatred and infighting between Easts and Souths, what are the suburbs and junior rl clubs involved?

It doesn't matter as its a pipe dream. To regain what we lost back in 1954 you would have to disban Souths Juniors which will never happen.

Chook.

PRaamatta spend for instance over $1 million on their junior league, as does the Riff.

I wish my Eels had an Uncle Nick

Again it is a bit distorted, the Parramatta Leagues club gives $1.1million to the Parramatta District RL for jnr dvelopment. the parramatta national rugby league club Ltd spends nothing. The leagues club should exist to fund jnr and grass roots Rl, it is the only justification for the misery and wealth they take out of the community. The NRL club is putting nothing in out of its revenue so it would be unjustified for the NRL club CEO to be whinging, fair enough if the Leagues club boss was whinging I suppose.

i suspect it is the same with Wests Tigers.

As a bit of a history buff, what suburbs and clubs were lost to Souths in the 1954 junior areas' boundary re-draw?

Unless I researched it I'd be geussing.

Cogburn is in this thread and he knows more about the club than I do, maybe he can elaborate.

Chook.

P.S Beat me to it RC.

Kick the Wests Tigers out of the comp already, they have like one of the lowest membership numbers and they had about 50 crowds under 10k last season, there a disgrace to the NRL.

Hayney, you are just here to cause trouble. Like Wazn in the Melbourne Cup.

The only one we could possibly be paying is Gibbs

Fifita and heighno were NEVER under tigers contracts fr 2014. The whole reason heighno left was because we wouldn't give him an extension past 2014.

If your going to make stuff up might want to check your facts first

Because the Tiger's payments were never negotiated in the contracts they signed with the Sharks right...
Neither player has signed a new contract since coming to the Sharks, if you look at my other post you will see my source who has direct lines into the club. You don't have to believe it and can stick your head in the sand if you wish. It may not be much but there are still payments there currently.

Whats the cap going too, $6 million.

Those figures alone, $1.2 million for them 2 alone.

Add in $400k(conservative) for Graham and $550k for Morris.

$350k for klemmer, $650k for Trex

= $3.15 million for 6 players.

The other 19 players must be pretty filthy :(

I know Sam Perrett is on about $325K.

Hmm this is pure guess work:

1. Minichiello - 150k (long service allowance and a 1 year deal)
2. Tupou - 100k. An Eels discard who signed for nothing and dont think he's renewed yet?
3. Jennings - 400k. The rest is being paid by Penrith
4. SKD - 350k. Signed a big deal on the back of his 2010 season.
5. RTS - 250k. Again all depends when he resigned. Remember this isnt what theyre worth now but when they signed their last contract.
6. Maloney - 350k.
7. Pearce - 450k.
8. JWH - 400k
9. Friend - 350k
10. Moa - 100k. An ESL cast off
11. Cordner - 300k
12. SBW - 700k
13. FPN - 275k

14. Aubusson - 300k.
15. Guerra - 200k.

The rest wouldn't be on a lot.

Our problem will come when a lot of our stars come up for contract renewal. RTS, Tupou, JWH, Pearce, Friend, Cordner ... some of the best players in the world in their positions but all signed contracts prior to last years success.

I mean Jared might be the no.1 prop in the game right now but only 18 months ago he was a frustrating talent. Same with Friend ... arguably the most valuable hooker in the game when factoring in his youth but was signed before his breakout year.

This is why I think the money freed up by SBW leaving and Mini retiring will be reinvested almost entirely into upgrading our current stars like RTS, Friend, Cordner, Guerra, Tupou, Moa, Jared etc.

I'd only be guessing

But I have faith that we are under the cap.

For the 2012 season our most major signing was Dan Mortimer. We also lost Todd Carney, Nate Myles, Jason Ryles, Kane Linnett, Piggy Riddell and Phil Graham. Dan Conn retired half way through 2011 and wasn't replaced. We cut Sam Perrett half way through 2012. For 2013 we let go Braith Anasta and Justin Carney, BJ Leilua and Tom Symonds. Mose Masoe too.

So going into the market for 2013 we had a lot of cash to spend. And the cap went up. So that's how we were able to afford the likes of SBW, Jenko and the others

Fifita just signed to the Dogs for 850k. Farah is on something like 900k at the Tigers and Thurston is on more than a million and you reckon SBW is on 700k and you have nobody else over 500k even though you have Maloney, Pearce, Hargreaves, Jennings etc. etc.

Nah man.
