Melbourne must still be cheating the cap

Well the greatest rugby league team of all time have made their fifth grand final since 2006, a remarkable achievement which no one with a fully functioning brain can deny. However as we all know Melbourne's most recent success can only be explained by one thing and one thing only, "cheating" the salary cap. One can only hope that the NRL will conduct a full investigation of this most blatant cap rorting as there can be no other reason to explain how Melbourne are just so damn good.

A team that only has 1 premiership could never be considered close to the best of all time.

Poor little butthurt Butters. Still hurting over the fact his team was forced (somewhat) to actually play by the rules.

From 2006-08 they had the most wins a rugby league team had ever had in a 3 year period. Pretty sure that = greatest team ever.

They also had the highest paid squad in the comp in that time. Imagine if the current Manly or Souths or Dogs squads were given an extra million dollars in capspace. We'd give that record a run too.

Team achievements when that team is not playing on an even playing field mean shit all.

Ahh Butters, always good for a laugh at, either in here or in Southpark.

However, if Melbourne win we all know that Butters is 1000% correct. It means they must be cap cheats, as it's the only way that 'Donuts' Bellamy can get a winning squad.

Next week will reveal all. Stay tuned.

We're actually going for our 4th next week mate. Wish us luck!
You're not. I know some decent Storm fans in rl who acknowledge they deservedly are not 07 and 09 premiers. The Storm trolls on here can get f**ked. Noone agrees with them.

The thread title is correct - effectively Melbourne are still cheating the cap.

They still have Smith, who was Titans bound.
They still have the winning culture that cheating built.
They are keeping players for "unders" because they want to stay with a "winning" club.

Until these things are no longer true then they are still benefiting from cheating the cap.

3 years from now when the big 3 are declining and their massive wages are overs THEN they'll stop benefiting from cheating. They'll spend a couple of years down the lower end of the table. If and when they bounce back, then their success will be untainted.

Storm are still winning because of their illegally assembled stars. Storm fans can bury their heads in the sand all they like but that's the bottom line.

simple question: did Smith, Slater et al. know they were receiving excess money and did Bellamy know about this?

The Melbourne Storm is an ongoing embarrassment to the NRL. If Gallop had had
any balls, he would have kicked Melbourne out.

The only team to have actual premierships wiped from the record books, and they
continue to gain benefit from cheating. And the zealots on here wonder why rugby
league lacks credibility with anyone but themselves.
