Sydney Bulls 34 (Gilmore, Rakabu, Jolly, Hadley, A Mansour, T Mansour tries, Tippett 5 goals) beat Windsor 26 (Bannon 3, Mercer, Tramonte tries, Mercer 3 goals).
A crowd of more than 2000 was on hand to see the Bulls score first in the grand final replay. The Bulls went into the game without Charlie Farah, who along with his likely replacement Dimitrius Ainuu, joined Damian Mostyn in the Bulldogs Premier League team. Grech and Takchi were also on the injured list. Brett Finn passed a fitness test so Elias Paiyo dropped back to A Grade.
The teams exchanged tries but at 12-12 Mercer scored from the restart beating several forwards and stepping Gilmore to score. Bannon’s second try saw the Wolves in front 22-12 at the break.
Jolly, back from suspension, dominated in the second half as the Bulls ran in 3 long range tries. Bannon completed a hat trick with a consolation just before full time. Hadley had another good game and I expect him to get a call from the Bulldogs next week.
This game ends a 6 game winning sequence for the Wolves since they were hammered by the Canberra NRL team, but they had Craig Trindall calling the plays in trial wins against the Bulls, Cabra and Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers. After his man of the match award in his only appearance in Premier League the Wolves don’t expect him back. Tricky provided expert commentary on the game for the local radio station.

Cabramatta’s Jim Beam side were hopeful that last weekend they would collect the competition points when they faced up against The Entrance Tigers but unfortunately it was not meant to be, losing their forth game in a row, 28-16.
Although the Two Blues started off with a spring in their step they soon seemed to loose momentum. They had too many handling errors and were at times very flat in their defence.
Even though the team had minor changes made to the prior weeks there still seem to be a lack of commitment from the players.
Although they train hard throughout the week under Coach Jason Alchin, it is still what happens on the field on the day that counts.
The team has a weekend off next week but there will be some outstanding footy on display on Friday night when the Parramatta A grade rep side take on rivals from Penrith, tick off is at 7pm, three locals from Cabramatta have been selected in the team, and prior to this the Cabramatta u15 side will be playing against Guildford at 6.00pm. So come on down and lend your support.
A big day at Cabramatta sports Ground to add to your calendar is May 21st when there is a family day. Fun for everyone, jumping castle, face painting, kicking comps and much more, so bring the family down and watch the footy as well.

We won 4 in a row - then Ben Reynolds joined us

We won (just) our first game with Reynolds - but that was against the magpies and we still only just scraped through with the win. Since then we've lost every match.

The worst of the matter is Tim Sheens will not allow us to drop him -this week we have TWO capable halves sitting on the bench, a third (Rolfe) has been given to the magpies and yet our PL halves are Sam Harris  and bloody Reynolds.

Cougars have a fairly wicked side this week...couple of first graders dropped through lack of form.

I'd be interested to see how Howland and Peters go...and Craig Trindell.

I should be heading out there this sunday...depending on how much uni work i get done this weekend...so i could possible give a wrap up...depending what times and if i go.

Nearly forgot. By the way there is a bye for the whole of the Jim Beam Cup this week. 6 Asquith players actually played Jersey Flegg for the Bears this weekend.

Wests Magpies finally recorded their first win of the 2006 VB Premier League season when they took on the Newcastle Knights at Campbelltown Stadium today. Whilst the 28 – 10 result does not move the Campbelltown based team off the base of the ladder, it is reward for a number of close results the Magpies have been involved in, in recent weeks.
In other matches on the weekend, Manly-Warringah proved to be too strong for St George-Illawarra, running out 38 – 28 winners at WIN Stadium, whilst Balmain Ryde Eastwood returned to their winning ways with a 48 to 16 victory over North Sydney.

Parramatta strengthened their position at the top of the ladder when they ran over the top of the Bulldogs, whilst Canberra and South Sydney picked up the two premiership points with winning performances.

Round 10 Results:
Saturday May 13:
St George-Illawarra Dragons 28 lost to Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles 38 at WIN Stadium
North Sydney Bears 16 lost to Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers 48 at North Sydney Oval

Sunday May 14:
Bulldogs 6 lost to Parramatta Eels 44 at Telstra Stadium
Wests Magpies 28 defeated Newcastle Knights 10 at Campbelltown Stadium
Canberra Raiders 50 defeated Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks 30 at Canberra Stadium
St Mary's-Penrith Cougars 24 lost to South Sydney Rabbitohs 43 at CUA Stadium

- Well done Wests!

Girvs, you should be able to keep most of those Asquith players because they are mainly in the A Grade team not Jim Beam, but you will have to show some money if you want Murphy.
