Sydney Bulls 40 (Salem 2, Winterstein 2, Bushby, Grech, Debartolo tries, Tippett 6 goals) beat Cabramatta 26 (Jones 2, Betham, Massey, Best, Gruska tries, Aiga goal)
The Bulls often do it tough against Cabra and the visitors really asked some questions early but the Bulls gradually got on top and started to play their flashy style. Any sort of score was possible when 15 minutes into the second half the Bulls led 40-10 but the Blues started to dominate possession and insufficient desperation in defence saw Cabra put on 4 tries.
Charlie Farah was outstanding, as was Nathan Debartolo, and Anthony Hadley has put together 3 strong games for the Bulls, who went into the game with 5 changes from the previous week, including the debut of Danny Barakat, who was taken out of the reserve grade game 15 minutes after half time following an injury to Chahal in pre game warm up. Anthony Mansour who played his first game for 2006 will become the third Bulls player to reach 100 first grade games. Shannon Cameron had limited game time in his first appearance. He has played for Brothers and Ipswich in the Queensland Cup but he will have to show a lot more than we saw yesterday if he is to be a success in Sydney.
Willie Browns brother Ross has joined Cabra from Parra RU and was impressive in his first start. In February Cabra played a 3 way trial with Balmain Ryde and Western Suburbs. They beat Wests and lost to Tigers following a last minute try, but it has been all down hill from there. At least yesterday they showed something to build on.
