That's a regular occurance 'setting the joing on fire'. The club has been on fire every years except 2005.
At the bottom of this, is you and you're little 'brain dead' friends thought by hiring Ivan Cleary, Nathan would jump ship to play with his dad.
The outrage, bile and tears 3 years on are positively wonderful. 10 years with no finals. Can it get any better.
Continue to sook. The only blood pressure you're rising is your own.
i find the whole ‘he left us with a terrible roster’ narrative quite odd; is it not the job of the organisation to manage the roster.
No coach comes into a new job with the roster that they want. The Tigers have had 3 years since Ivan left to clean up the roster, move players on but they haven’t. A few reasons for this:
- Madge seems to make players go backwards. Players that we playing really well when Ivan was there have played terribly for years since. If he could get the best out of his players easier to put them in the shop window.
- more importantly, the Tigers don’t seem decisive enough in that element of the market. Why play Reynolds and Mybe off the bench for years before looking to move them on; if they don’t fit, get rid of the early. And once you have a chance to move Mybe on (if he is really is such a noose around your neck) why not take that opportunity just because he strings a few good games together in a row.
Look at what Ivan did when he got to us. DWZ, RCG and Blake (three contracts that many Panther fans would argue were as bad as the ones that the Tigers had due to their length and volume) all moved on quickly (and Penrith still paying for them in some cases) and since then the Sauce, Whare and Hetherington also moved on. Decisive action taken around roster management in advance of significant decline in their performance.
