It’s not about him leaving per se, he wasn’t doing a great job.
It’s about him setting the joint and fire and doing nothing to help extinguish the flames.

That's a regular occurance 'setting the joint on fire'. The club has been on fire every years except 2005.

At the bottom of this, is you and you're little 'brain dead' friends thought by hiring Ivan Cleary, Nathan would jump ship to play with his dad.

The outrage, bile and tears 3 years on are positively wonderful. 10 years with no finals. Can it get any better.

Continue to sook. The only blood pressure you're rising is your own.

I hope the mods keep this thread open so that we can all laugh at the pitiful tigpie fans celebrating their mighty win over a depleted team. But I can understand - they've only defeated two teams and a depleted Panthers all year. Just pitiful!

I’m enjoying the meltdown from certain arrogant dickheads on this forum. You sound like you’re so angry you are near tears.
So how did your solidarity rep go last night? The Panther players, who played for the Blues, had outstanding games.

i find the whole ‘he left us with a terrible roster’ narrative quite odd; is it not the job of the organisation to manage the roster.

No coach comes into a new job with the roster that they want. The Tigers have had 3 years since Ivan left to clean up the roster, move players on but they haven’t. A few reasons for this:
- Madge seems to make players go backwards. Players that we playing really well when Ivan was there have played terribly for years since. If he could get the best out of his players easier to put them in the shop window.
- more importantly, the Tigers don’t seem decisive enough in that element of the market. Why play Reynolds and Mybe off the bench for years before looking to move them on; if they don’t fit, get rid of the early. And once you have a chance to move Mybe on (if he is really is such a noose around your neck) why not take that opportunity just because he strings a few good games together in a row.

Look at what Ivan did when he got to us. DWZ, RCG and Blake (three contracts that many Panther fans would argue were as bad as the ones that the Tigers had due to their length and volume) all moved on quickly (and Penrith still paying for them in some cases) and since then the Sauce, Whare and Hetherington also moved on. Decisive action taken around roster management in advance of significant decline in their performance.

He signed dud players on large money long term contracts who apparently shared the same manager as him.

This is all subjective, so a valid way of looking at it. I will admit to being a big Ivan fan so will throw a few different perspectives at you.

They weren’t duds when he bought them though; other clubs were chasing them. You had an international prop, and SoO and grand-final half and another SoO player. These players have become duds since Madge got there. Yes Ivan signed off on paying ‘overs’ for them, but Wests have had to do the same for years given where they are.

In terms of buying players in the same manager stable as you, all coaches do that don’t they? Clubs know that; that is why you need governance structures to manage those conflicts of interest. You can’t let the coach make all the decisions; that is asking for trouble.

And the point still remains; if the Tigers don’t like the contracts, they have had almost three years to do something about them.

I think Tigers fans are absolute f**kwits carrying on over a coach they claim destroyed their club leaving them. You cant have it both ways. If he destroyed your club it makes no sense to be salty bitches about him leaving
Well if you were in our position you would feel the same way as us, Buying players on 4 year contracts, when probably the best days are done, then going behind close doors dealing your chief to coach after not completing a year. Obviously he has a talent as a coach but not as a human. Your coach just stoked the fire a lil more with his antics last year.

I see Tigger tail is a junior. Certainly behaving like one. Can somebody find the dummy it spat out and plug the little brats cakehole? Nothing worse than listening to a spoilt brat throwing a tantrum.
