Now that’s a wrap.
1/2 as good will be good.

Same skill set doesn’t mean he will be the same player ... his passing game is a lot better than blokes like hurrell ... still very green though

Mary would be clueless on what he actually has here ...

I don’t know ... maybe I over rate the pass he gave Norman ... Maybe people under rate it

That pass was a beauty & he threw a long one against the dogs earlier in the year too. I too think there’s a real good player just waiting to burst out. All he needs is a bit of time & most importantly good coaching which is the main problem.

Might be doing pretty well to get into 1st grade now with Saab looming large
its a shame, I mean, ALl he really had to do last season to hold his spot was to catch...the...damn....ball! really...and a bit of D coaching but not from baldy he couldnt tweak his game, I think hell come good as soon as we get a new coach I hope he stays, at times last season he was on fire and unstoppable
My fave Ravi moment was passing the ball to hit Lockyer in the head on the sideline...and the billion watt genuine smile afterwards! nice fella too I really hope he comes good he could be our Semi...Trailor!

I agree he can attack and look for offloads but McBaldy would have encouraged that attacking stuff out of his game and yes he lost confidence.dropping him earlier in the season...
But tends to have brain explosions....even in reggies which is his achilles heel.

If the coaching staff this year are prepared to show some confidence in him then he is worth persisting with imo.

He has huge upside...

Hopefully Rav kicks on. He has a lot of ups, just needs to work on his flaws. Hopefully any off season reviews strongly emphasises the deficiencies in our backline as we have to get better. I just don’t believe we will get any further backline upgrades.

Of course our halves but also the likes of Rav, Saab, Sailor, and Dufff, must hit first grade form. If they don’t I dare say we will struggle again. Could be in for another long season.

Rava has potential but he needs to work on his handling, discipline and defense week in week out in reserve grade. The fact that he is getting a start in Dragons first grade says a lot about the absolute lack of skill and depth in our clubs backline stocks.

Almost all the Fijian wingers have rocky roads in the beginning of their careers so our Bulla Dozer will be no exception.
Most of the time their upside far exceeds their downside especially when bring the ball out from your try line and in big attacking moments.
The issue for Rava is that we have very few big attacking moments but you can do as many hits as you like and him being very willing means he is subject to a mistake or 2.

If Millward did his job properly, Ravalawa might be a fan favourite right now. Ravalawa should have been a backup winger and over time made his way into first grade as opportunities came his way.

All Millward needed to do was to replace like with like on the wings; that is replace Nightingale and Macdonald with first grade wingers and then backfill with Ravalawa and Pereira/Pearson. We never needed other second rate back five signings, all we needed was to get rid of Dufty, Aitken and Lafai and sign a centre to partner Lomax and a proven first grade fullback.

Our young juniors would have benefited from a stint in reserve grade as backup in 2019.

Hang on...you just said he could of been a fan favourite but Millward signing him and apparently who does not pick the team sheets somehow stunted that.
Of course Recruitment 101.your way. Would not have anything to do with coaching would it
Throw 3 blokes away on Contract despite what Mary wants which does not free up hardly any money cause most of their salary would have to be paid by us to piss them off to play eleswhere.
Tell me in the 2018 / 2019 off season what 4 players from 1st grade to fulfil 2 wingers 1 centre and a fullback posiiton was available to buy with hardly any cash to spend.apart from BMoz?. Ferguson was signed mid 2018 by Parra

You are right though on what we need but not the way we could of gone about it

The fact that Ravalawa was signed half way through 2018, whilst McDonald was still contracted, sort of goes unnoticed. Periera at that time was the back-up. They signed Pearson for his NRL experience and speed and extended Saab for 4 years (that point also goes unnoticed) as well as Rava. McDonalds "request" for release under "compassionate grounds" came after the seasons end.
My understanding was that McDonald, until he pulled the pin, was one wing and Pearson (as Nighty's replacement) earmarked for the other. Rava and Periera werd to bide time in CC.
Millward did comment at that time they were on the lookout for another outside back.
As if turned out, McDonald left, Periera moved into his spot. Then Pearson had some family issue, which activatwd Rava to 1st grade.

Please pass this onto Possm..regards....but sshh...dont tell him that Millward had anything to do with some good decisions made with money available and coach's desired make up of a team. It is all still a Millward MESS.

If first grade wingers were signed, the Ravalawa would have less pressure and more time/experience to break into first grade. Who knows he may have even got a run at left centre.

It was Millward who extended Aitken and Lafai long term and it was Millward who extended Dufty for another season early in 2019.

It is Millward who is in charge of recruitment and he reports to the CEO not Mary.

Millward is in charge of recruitment, it was Marys decision to extend Aitken ad Lafai. Mary has the team he wants.
Have you ever heard Millward say he has he team he wants.
Get off your Millward hate and start seeing things how they are.
How hard would it be trying to entice top line players to the Dragons with Mary as the coach.
We got Hunt who Mary wanted and had to pay overs to get him. Who else have we signed in the last 4 years that wasn't on the outer..
Dufty was signed for 2 seasons you cant even get that right give up on the rest..

Millward was appointed to the position through backroom deals. The Club went out of its way to explain that it is a new structure and recruitment was a separate department that reports direct to the CEO.

I won't let up on Mary or Millward till the pair are gone.
