A number of steamy text messages from footy star Mitchell Pearce to another woman saw his wedding dramatically called off just before
Christmas Day.
Pearce's nuptials with glamorous fiancee Kristin Scott were set for December 29 in Byron Bay - but those plans were dramatically cancelled days out from the event.
The long-term boyfriend of a female staff member at the Newcastle Knights uncovered a number of flirtatious messages sent to her by club captain Pearce,
The Daily Telegraph reported.
The staff member's partner, who is reportedly furious over the texts, is said to be friends with several of the Newcastle Knights players, including forward Lachlan Fitzgibbon.

Ms Scott recently stated 'everything fell into place' after meeting Pearce (pictured above) and he gushed that he 'couldn't wait' to get married
Following the bombshell development, a number of his teammates are reportedly 'off' Pearce.
Newcastle coach Adam O'Brien may also consider stripping Pearce of the captaincy the publication reported, who is off-contract in the Hunter at the end of next year.
On Wednesday Ms Scott posted a cryptic post to her Instagram account Barre Effect with a picture of an iced coffee - tagging the location as Byron Bay.
She captioned it 'morning vibes' before sharing a second image of a margarita by an outdoor pool, captioning this one 'all about that healthy balance'.
It would appear Ms Scott is in Byron Bay despite the wedding there being called off at short notice.
In the days leading up to Christmas, Pearce told the
Newcastle Herald he was looking forward to the wedding.
'It will be the best time of our life and I can't wait,' he said.

Many people at the Knights credited Scott with helping 'wild child' Pearce finally find maturity and stability off the field.
A source from the Knights revealed 'nothing physical' had transpired between Pearce and the young woman who works at the club.
'It was just stupidity on Mitchell's behalf,' they said. 'A lot of people are upset about it.'

Knights media boss Frank Barrett previously said the club is 'aware of the issue, but it is a private matter that stays between the two individuals'.
Pearce joined the Knights in 2018 after starting his NRL career with the Sydney Roosters in 2007.
He won a premiership with the the Tricolours in 2013 and has made 19 appearances for NSW in State of Origin, finally winning a series last year.
