The fact that Pearce was comprehensively outplayed by his opposite number last night in Ben Hunt, a player who hasn't played 50 full games as Halfback should worry the Blues greatly.

40% possession, 19 completed sets, 10-3 penalty count against and the Premiership halfback still pulls a won out of the bag.

Class.

Good play by Pearce to win the game. Easts were going backwards allnight. Broncos were making easy metres. Huge penalty count against us. Hunt was playing the game of his life, and still Mitch finds a way to win the game for Easts.

So much class.
The way he completely ignores the 5 guys to his right with the 2 man overlap is so instinctual.
You can't coach that kind of behavior into a player.
He should be used a measuring stick for all up n coming halfbacks in the game.

Yes, conceding 5th tackle penalties is the cornerstone of any premiership side's preparations.

What training do you think we do to ensure we are awarded bugger all penalties?

Well if they're not specifically coached to lie all over the tackled player and repeatedly put hands in the play the ball, they're doing a great job of coordinating it themselves.

Do you honestly believe they were hard done by in that lop-sided penalty count?

Err Thaiday clearly tackles a kicker in the and the refs 'miss it' like they always do but have eagle eye on the Roosters with whilste redy to have the pea blown. It's been happening for years and just because the team has decided under Robinson to deal with it and move on verse years prior where frustration crept in and the team gave up, now it's labelled a deliberate tactic by the team. Thats the joke of it.

It's not the penalties we concede, it's the penalties we don't get.

2 penalties in general play in the 1st half, and 0 in the 2nd half. This against a team that's conceded 16 penalties in the first 2 rounds

And this is the part people can't explain.

We have conceded the most, but have also received the fewest penalties over the last few years.

Geez wasn't Brisbane's discipline WONDERFUL. 3 penalties .... One of which was from a kick off out on the full.

Yep well played. A massive improvement from the first two weeks. And oh look it was against us. What a surprise.

With a 58/42 possession flow, any team on the wrong side of that equation will get less penalties. But with a whopping 10 penalties conceded (and quite a few more that went un-punished), you simply can't say "it's about the penalties we don't get" because you're giving away a butt load to begin with. It's quite clear that the Roosters are prepared to give away penalties and possession rather than trys and rely on their line defence then wait for their chance with the ball.

There were at least two instances where a Rooster should have been sent to the bin last night, either for repeated offences or a professional foul.

So we're always on the end of a 58/42 possession flow? That's not a fair explanation as to why we've received the fewest penalties over the course of a 4 year period.

I do look forward to seeing Brisbane go back to conceding about 8 pens per game again as of next week.

I guess a 56/44 possession flow and 11-5 penalty count in your favour against the Eels never happened then huh?

Again, that's just one game.

I'm talking about an extended period where you can establish a trend.

In contrast the Broncos regularly get the rub of the green. Up at Suncorp you almost have a monopoly on guaranteed penalty count wins. Not surprising.
