Be55 I appreciate Dufty’s speed but you are spot on...Remis Smith did burn off Matt. Remis Smith is one of those ‘Storm signings’ that others seem to miss. Including us.

I think Dragons supporters have a very high opinion of Smith due to that game... but it still shows potential, which is what the storm see and sign... they then get the most of it. Doggy supporters aren't as worried about loosing him as I would have been, but with better coaching...

Dont think Hook or Webby will get into a price war in getting the player they want without being very very sure they will get their ROI. Perhaps Crichtion only at present would fill that criteria. The game is clogged with players getting over 600k a year and just not earning it. This is where our junior recruitment and development is vital and thankfully Hook is a advocate for this strategy.

I don't have a problem with this strategy, but we need forwards, especially edge and have no young ones coming through.

At some point we will have to bite the bullet and pay market or overs to get someone. If you only offer what everyone else is, they will stay where they are.

It will be hard but we will see what we have when the competition proper gets going. For me, I believe we have our 2021 squad right now and will only have to add to it if an injury occurs to one of our backrow forwards.

There is plenty of competition and talent to fill backline positions. It is only in our backrow where we will feel pain if injury occurs; especially if De Belin is not available. My forward pack would be:
8. Kerr
9. McInnes
10.Vaughan
11. Sims
12. Bird - if he is fit to play
13. Ford

14. Brittain - hooker or halves
15. Alvaro - prop
16. Faamausili - prop
17. Lawrie - prop or backrow

Bit like that elusive Silverman. Why do I keep looking at this thread I know it leads me up the proverbial path.
Difference is we’ve signed Silverman..

But despite the instance of some on here that he should be rushed into the first grade squad, he’s easily a year or two off being ready..
