My opinion Toovey.

He took a team of origin and international stars, a team from premiers to one of the most embarrasing final appearances ever. Not one player improved all went backwards. Only bright light was that thug Jorge Taufau

Going to be a shamble next year.

I'd say Griffin. Took a team full of SOO reps and internationals to eighth and his "resting/rotation" policy as proved shambles. Poor recruiting and retention has the team looking worse next year.

Yes he gave us 05 but should have been gone at the end of 07.

Sheens? He isn't a coach any more. Coaches Australia but Blind Freddy could do that. And Blind Freddy might one day.

Strange thread. You seem to be labouring under the delusion that simply because someone's coaching a team of highly-rated players, they themselves must therefore be a highly-rated coach. Toovey's a newbie, as is Griffon.

It definitely has to be Sheens, as most others have said. His roster isn't amazing, but that's beside the point.

LOL, so your using Des as the excuse? Right. So all the people calling the dragons coach the worst i nthe comp are wrong. It's only cause Wayne left?:lol::lol::lol:

Though your right, Dog's only gain was James Graham. Lost a few big names. Though Des's ability made the team change that much better.

Toovey who was with the club and claimed to be groomed for years made no improvements in anyone... Infact almost everyone went backwards.

I'm a Newcastle fan through and through, but you can add Bennett to the list based on this years performance. You hear about him coming to a new club and needing to get the current crop of players to "buy into his vision", but you don't see that with the likes Hasler and Maguire who faced a similar situation.

I was happy with Mullen's development and finally having a season in first grade where he showed signs of consistency, but no other players really stood out for me in terms of overall improvement.

Hasler and McGuire have the two best rosters in the nrl. Knights roster is a pile of crap.

And as for the griffin comment, the broncs had injuries and players missing before and after origin..
You simply can't be as good without your full compliment if players.

People were calling the Dogs and Bunnies to miss the 8. Crap halves being the main reason when Sandow took the pay day and Reynolds was unproven with a useless Sutton. Hell Barba being a rubbish player and nightmare at fullback was 1 too. Pritchard being incosistent. Graham unproven. Kasiano a fat nobody. Halatau & Stagg past it. Eastwood overweight and no heart.

The dogs missed the 8 and lost Ryan, Idris from memory as the main two and added James Graham.

Lets be serious. Des has made our roster 1000x better then what it was.
