Im not sure what other peoples understanding of what the term "over-rated" means, but my understanding is its someone who is thought of or regarded very highly, yet hasn't done enough to deserve that.
Im not a fan of Wayne Bennett but there is no way in hell he can be regarded as over-rated. His career record speaks for itself and is one that any other coach would kill for.
Stephen Kearney?? who the f**k rates this guy? He's coached what, 1 season? for a spoon team and then got the sack.... who was ever singing his praises or talking him up? Shit coach? yeah... definitely. Over-rated? hardly.
Anthony Griffin?? I don't recall hearing much if anything about this guy, he might have underachieved but over-rated? i don't think i've heard two words about him.
I can certainly agree with people saying Tim Sheens, of course. The guy has massively underachieved given the time and rosters he has had at his disposal. Should have been punted years ago.
But for me, Ricky Stuart's name sits high above the rest when it comes to being over-rated, over-hyped and held in such high regard for no reason at all. He won a comp at the Roosters after riding Graham Murrays coat tails. He achieved nothing at the Sharks except for setting an NRL record for signing the most amount of backrowers in a single football club. Over the last couple of years, the Origin series' have been all about how Ricky Stuart has revived the Blues, gotten them believing in themselves and each other and how they are sooooo close to beating QLD... I understand this series was close but Origin football usually is, and at the end of the day Ricky still didn't achieve a damn thing when it comes to the one thing important for a coach to achieve....RESULTS.
After stepping aside from NSW, the rumours were flying thick and fast as to who would be the club lucky enough to lure the super-coach to the top gig for 2013....why?
