In the light of the T Rex discussion I thought this needed a resurgence.
It's an amusing read.
Apparently according to the OP any coach who has a player regress under his tenure, let alone a whole team, is over rated.

It seems Natheel was right all along. Anything can, and often does, happen in this game of Rugby League. A few injuries, a key player requiring 'rehabilitation', and throw in some biting here and there. All of a sudden BAM, from the 'Dog' house to the outhouse to mix a metaphor.

Deadset, you'd think some of these blokes who start trumpeting their team's future success before a ball has even been kicked in anger have only been watching the game for 5 minutes. No doubt the Dogs will show improvement once they get some names back, particularly Graham and Kasiano. However Barba looks indifferent at the moment, and T Rex, well, lol. I particularly like the way Dessie has him over running the play at every opportunity, premium coaching there eh?

Speaking of the OP, gone quiet of late hasn't he? Funny that.

He took a team of origin and international stars, a team from premiers to one of the most embarrasing final appearances ever. Not one player improved all went backwards. Only bright light was that thug Jorge Taufau

Going to be a shamble next year.

I thought that Toovey had pretty good credentials to turn out a decent coach. Captained a premiership and played first receiver or dummy half for Australia so he must have some respect around the club. Given his physical stature he had to learn to read the game rather than rely on size or speed. Add to that he was coached by a handy one in Fulton and did an apprenticeship under Hasler. Early days still for him but his early results aren't bad.

Even though it's a doggiesderp thread I'm inclined to point out Manly still only came 3rd in the March premiership, which means dick all in the grand scheme of things. You sound as excited as Lol@Souffs fans at the moment
