Doggiesbro considering Manly have won 2 premierships since the dogs last won one I wouldn't be so cocky. No one remembers minor premiers. You act like you guys won the whole f*ckin comp this year. Just shut up

How is Toovey overrated when he was the only coach who didn't get nominated for coach of the year out of the teams that finished in the top 4?

Noone remembers who won years ago, otherwise we would all claim like rabbitohs fans. the only team who can speak is the storm. showed they were the better team on the day.

i act like Des toook a team that almost everyone called a roster of rubbish to the minor prems and the gf in his first year.

and that anyone questioning him and his choices have rocks in their head.

just shut up.

hard to be nominated when you take a team backwards when its loaded full of international and origin stars.

And that's the coach yeah?

What about when Des finished 8th and
we got belted by saints?

Or when Des finished fifth and we got belted by Melbourne?

What about when he finished second and we lost to Melbourne in the big one with a massive scoreline?

Or when he came first and never threatened to win the grand final?

I'd say that's backwards IMO

Isn't the Tigers side loaded with internationals? Seeing as you think Des is king of coaches how could you say Geoff Toovey, a rookie coach mind you takes the same team only 1 game short of where Des took them the year before is overrated? It defies logic. But then again that wouldn't surprise me.

anyone questioning des it's simple. look at what manly became without him, look at what dogs became with him.

a roster full of international and origin players 13/17 get belted out of the finals, done by the dogs in the final with a average roster that most bagged and saidwere rubbish. he took that rubbish roster to the big one and got them the minor prems.

can't wait for the next 3 years of life of des.

Why are trying to devalue a side making a preliminary final. Regardless of the result making the prelim final is something I would love my side to do. Like the poster above you pointed out, toovey took manly one game short of where the dogs ended up.

Be careful Bro, des hasn't always taken his sides to a GF/premiership and it could be very easy for the dogs to not even go close to the lofty heights they reached this year. Hugely over achieving does not mean you guys are guarantee years and years of success.

Show some f**king humility for once

Bunch of dribble. Completely disregard the fact many said des couldnt do shit with it he did, said inu, pritchard, barba etc etc couldnt be cosistent or reliable. they have been.

now those same nuffies bag tony williams signing. who are they to question his decision? speak of showing some humility lol. geez.

Des made me eat my words to some extent this year but since when does one season guarantee success the very next. Dogs are in a very strong position obviously but the way your carrying on he's a lock for the premiership the next 3 years. My point being, anything can happen in a year, surely you'd realize this being a dogs fan. Don't believe I've disregarded what des has done either.

I actually hope TRex kills it under des, means he'll be a lock for origin and if that's the case it's one more weapon we can add to help beat the toads.

I couldn't see the Sea Eagles equaling 2011, especially when they had a weaker squad, a worse run with injuries and more rep. commitments.

Too early to make a call on Toovey. Sea Eagles spent 2012 playing Des-Ball, they had some suspect moments but that doesn't necessarily mean the coach was at fault. Fortunately for them, they've recruited really well, retaining all their best players while signing a number of good prospects from the NYC who could turn out to be better fits for them than the likes of Darcy & T-Rex.

Lol, we played a more expansive game this year, we chances our hand a little more and didn't get bitten for it, infact we prospered

With 20 minutes left Manly very well could've won that prelim however exhaustion took over and they piled on the points, the end score meant little we were gone anyway

With exclusive Joey next year I believe we could start a dynasty or make this run into one easily

Do I think a rookie coach can be overrated? No, especially not the most overrated

Des has since 2005 had pretty decent cattle mixed with excellent fitness, he didn't play in any game during his time at manly as coach nor did he play last year, 2012 was a good year for him even though his halves were shit,I think he had a lot of luck given the lacklustre competition which was 2012

Lets face it, not for a long time have teams been so poor, there was a game towards the end of the season in which during the second half both teams had a completion rate under 50%, the game was Penrith vs nz and it was pure unadulterated shit

Never before and hopefully never again I'll see a game so piss poor, nor a season of professional sports that were so absolutely poor

Bottom line that minor premiership was a massive stroke of luck, if Barba didn't catch fire Canterbury becomes an also ran

Sorry mate but I was in Melbourne and at the game and manly never looked in the game. IMO it was always just waiting for Melbourne to blow the game wide open. They were ruthless and clinical where manly flat and not up for it. If cam could kick it would've been over at half time

Funnily enough it was the same in the grand final. Cams shit kicking kept the dogs in the game.

hard to say, if morris grounded that ball instead of a shocking bounce it was game on i think. even the hoffman knock on that was ruled a strip when they scored off it early on would of made a big change in the game.

its just footy though. cronk was the difference in my opinion. his kicking game was unreal that day.

Melbourne's Defence outwide combined with coooper was the difference. The up and in reads by the centres and wingers was Brilliant all night.

Sorta agree the dogs were just one try away from turning the game. Just shows how brilliantly drilled the storm are.
