Using your own argument DoggiesBlow. Des took the premiers of 2008 off the back of the biggest ever GF win to finish 5th in 2009 ending their season with a 40-12 thrashing by Melbourne. Players like Kite, Orford and others went downhill. Therefore (remember, this is your own argument, noone elses), Des Hasler is the most overrated coach in the comp.

Tell me why this is wrong but your assertion that Toovey is overrated based on THE SAME argument has any validity.

Des had the same core group of players for the 2009 premiership defense (who were obviously all 3 years younger and in their prime at the time) and the team finished 5th and lost to Melbourne. Do you remember the score? 40-12, EXACTLY the same score that you're claiming your me$$iah would have avoided. So the fact is Toovey had a better season defending the premiership in 2012 than Des had in 2009 despite the fact he lost Brett Stewart, Glenn Stewart, David Williams, Kieren Foran, Tony Williams and others for large chunks of the season.
