I think he’s been solid for us but not spectacular. He cops a bagging but has come up with some clutch plays ala the parra game.
I’m saying that, I wouldn’t be giving anything more than 1 year - bloke has played 8 games….how many over the last 3 years though - which was not value for money.
I assume the coach has other options he’s looking back and Moylan was a stop gap- otherwise he would have been punted like Woods and Johnson.
If he can get a two year deal and probally Kevvie overs up north - take it young man. He will just have to put up with that Gamble flog.

Hmmm…
2 years he’d be 33..hasn’t played a lot of games so the body may be alright.
The only way I would do two years is the next year at the same coin(reportedly )$450k…then the second at $350.
I am a fan of his work this year, silky silky passing game.
Everyone was rubbish on Thursday.

The balance of the cap vital. MM at the current money makes good sense. Anything more then I would let him go develop Trindal and Lachie.
$350 k though for a utility of his skills seems good to me. Let’s see if we can build the place where people take unders to win a trophy.
Inwould reckon the club has other plans for half..
Wades money and Burrittos money is a big chunk of change.

I really don’t see either being resigned next year.

I'm a fan of Moyza, but I'm not a fan of a 2 year deal, unless he takes another pay cut.
Those legs have caution written all over them.
Exactly. Rugby League is a reactive business with massive bouts of recency bias. I like Moylan's work at the price but everyone expects a 4 week soft tissue injury at some point.

Agreed on all fronts. He’s been class this year but to consider a 2 year deal would be insanity.

Nah not for me. If he wants two years and top dollar let Uncle Wayne take him. He will be injured again by seasons end.

1 year only, never 2, any injury he does get is always a multi week injury.
We have depth, and there will be players come into the market

There is a 5/8 on that can be talked to from Nov 1st.
He rejected us in 2020, but that was before Fitz was in control.
I wonder if he's on our radar. I reckon the Storm may make a big play for him if Herman looks like leaving.
Burton.

Not too sure about that $450 figure. My belief he is on $350k this year.

I'd think a fair way to go would be $350k for next year with a club option for 2024.

We don;t have a ready made 6 to step up for 2023 and the shelves in the halves shop are bare for off contract 2022 guys

For next year could have a run at. Moylan is probably the most realistic out of that lot. Fitz might be able to do something with CHT.

FIVE-EIGHTH

Kieran Foran, Matt Frawley, Ben Hampton, Lachlan Lam, Matt Moylan, Hayze Perham, Jaeman Salmon, Simi Sasagi, Ashley Taylor, Billy Walters

HALFBACK

Phoenix Crossland, Kurt Falls, Chanel Harris-Tavita, Cooper Johns, Albert Kelly, Jock Madden, Anthony Milford, Kodi Nikorima, Sean O'Sullivan, Brandon Wakeham, Sam Williams

2023 has more options

FIVE-EIGHTH

Dylan Brown, Tyson Gamble, Jackson Hastings, Adam Keighran, Kurt Mann, Cameron Munster, Paul Turner, Cody Walker

HALFBACK

Jakob Arthur, Bailey Biondi-Odo, Luke Brooks, Jake Clifford, Adam Clune, Kyle Flanagan, Ben Hunt, Drew Hutchison, Lachlan Ilias, Shaun Johnson, Soni Luke, Lachlan Miller, Cory Paix, Jonah Pezet, Brad Schneider, Blake Taaffe, Braydon Trindall, Sam Walker, Tyran Wishart

He is still too scared to stride out at full speed.
I like what he can do but he just hasn't done it enough since arriving. See ya Moyz...

If Burton doesn't take up his option, and it seems he may not be, then he is on the list as well.

How do we know Burton isn’t taking up his option?

BURTON TO TEST THE MARKET

Bulldogs off-season recruit Matt Burton will reportedly test the open market after November 1, looking for a significant upgrade on his current salary.

The 22-year-old premiership winner, who traded the Panthers for the Canterbury-Bankstown side, moved on a two-year deal with a player option for the 2024 season.

Now according to The Daily Telegraph, the gun playmaker will test the market and see if he can find an upgrade on his current $550,000 contract.

It is also understood that Burton will not take up his option, meaning a bidding war could kick off with rivals ready to hand the halfback a significant payrise.

Burton signed his deal prior to his contribution in the Panthers grand final winning campaign and could command more than $700,000 on the open market.

While he is still settling into life under Trent Barrett, noone can deny Burton’s quality, having won Dally M Centre of the Year in 2021 before shifting back to the halves.
