Still for me best 6 in NSW.

JT plays there in maroon, as he has Cronk.

Anyways, doubt he will be considered.

Mullen wasn't too bad today I thought... Been much worse before.

I just don't understand what the point of our halves are... Sandow and Norman were on the ball at least once each on every set. They tried to make something happen but our halves just do nothing but sit back and just wait for something to happen... Take control of the game god damnit...

Roberts is abysmal, not a first grader, however Mullen is the highest paid player in the team, he's suppose to be our main playmaker but when the stakes are raised, when it matters Mullen is often nowhere to be seen. The last few weeks Roberts has been abysmal, that's when Mullen should've taken the bull by the horns and atleast tried to put the team on his back, instead he's just sat back and watch Tyrone drown. Today, the final 10 minutes, when the game was there to be won, Mullen was doing his best hollow man impersonation.

Captain Giggledick was too busy f**king everything up when the game was on the line, same as most other weeks. Without Mullen tonight we might not have even scored, aqua. It's all well and good to say he fails at clutch moments - but none of our other options will even put us in the position to have a clutch moment, we'll be out of the game well in advance of the last 10 minutes.

Why must Mullen be the bloke that does *everything*? Gidley isn't paid that much less. I think Gagai is actually paid more. Scott is right up there. Both halves have a responsibility to create, and Mullen can at least put us in a position to win. Expecting him to get the clutch play every time is expecting him to be Johns or Lockyer.

See you're holding Mullen to a very low standard, I have much greater expectations of Mullen because he's so gifted, I expect nothing from Roberts and Gidley

I'm just not expecting him to do everything when there are 12 other blokes on the field, one with a C next to his name, that are offering as little or less. There's probably only 4 or 5 blokes that have actually been measurably better than Mullen this year - our centres, Aku, Scott and Snowy. Everyone else has been largely shit and inconsistent. We just drop the ball and give away penalties at the worst possible times, almost ritually. We can't win games while we're doing that, I don't care if we run out and sign JT effective immediately at the moment... we'd have him dropped from the QLD team by mid year.

I always felt like it was a shame Ben Rodgers was injured. After the Johns-era, he seemed to be that solid, nothing special player Mullen needed to be playing off...

HAving said that, i feel like both the Knights and especially Mullen would benefit with Mullen moving on to a new environment. I know we'd all bitch and moan as we did when MJohns was shifted, but Mullen in Newcastle just seems like we're expect Johns-2.0 and he just needs more time and responsibility.:crazy::crazy:

Im not going to pretend i know what the magic bullet is for us ATM, but i definitely feel like Mullen should be moving on (for his sake as much as ours)...

I want to see Gidley and Roberts moved on first. Mullen doesn't look comfortable when Gidley plays at all and I don't even know what the f**k is wrong with Roberts at the moment. He's gone from being too quiet to injecting himself so much he's started actively hurting us like Gidley.

I just don't see any sense in pissing off our one half that can offer something while we still have complete spastics running around in the #1 and #7 jerseys.

Replacing Kidley would be dead easy, but what are the alternatinve for Roberts??

I know everyone has big raps on that Jake Cogger (?), but im always sceptical of blooding kids under 20.

Edit: Does anyone know if Clydsdale or Randell played in the halves through the juniors?? That, i would be interested in...

I don't think Randall or Feeney could do any worse than him at the moment.

And yeah, I don't like the idea of Lamb or Cogger (who is only 17 so he couldn't play anyway) being thrown in now amidst the current mess. We don't want to hurt their development.

I think Randell could do okay. Don't do anything special and just move the ball and try to help out spreading the ball early to our backs. Try to take on some kicking duties.

With Roberts out, we'd be down a really good goal kicker as well. If we take out both Roberts and Gidley, we'd be down our best two kickers.

Mullen, Gidley and Uate have done very well out of league.

They should step down and hand back a few years worth of pay packets.

As the creator of this thread, I feel the need to point out that today was a Jarrod Mullen Special.

Watch today's game and compare it to his 2007 origin performance - Good in the early stages when the pressure is minimal and then found hiding at the first sign of pressure.

If he played the whole 80 with the same composure he played the first 20mins I'd be his biggest fan - I'd be right up there fighting with the rest of you Mullen apologists for a taste of his dick.

Point is I don't hate him, I wish the guy the very best - he's probably a really nice guy deserving of great things!
In fact, I'd go as far to say that he has all the skills needed to be an all-time-great but he just lacks the mindset required to TRULY unlock his potential we've all spoken about since he was a 17-year-old kid.

We desperately need a consistent half if we're to win a comp - not brilliant, just consistent.

One piece of play early in the match sums up Mullen in a nutshell.
All week he has be telling everyone he needs to run the ball more.
So what does he do? He runs it on the last even though it wasn't on.
He just doesn't play what's in front of him.

He doesn't have the vision needed to play what's in front of him.

As most have said countless times before, he needs a very good halfback there to help his game.

Time to put some dollars away for the next decent half that comes on the market. The winger on 500K could be sacrificed to begin the war chest.

We have about $1.1 mil invested in our right winger and right centre who are both reserve grade standard in defence

Although Aku's salary in particular is ridiculous, jeez, I wouldn't swap him and Gags for really any other centres/wingers in the comp even with their defensive issues. They put the forwards to shame with how much work they do and they've been pretty clutch players for us.

Although I'm firmly of the view that the whole local favourite thing shouldn't assure you a spot, I don't think punting Aku in particular would be good for club morale. He's clearly the most loved Knights player by most general fans by a large stretch.

We need a halfback no doubt but there are a lot of players I'd be punting before him to make it happen. Blokes like Gidley, Houston, Roberts, etc may play in more important positions but they dont offer the club even a quarter of what Uate does.

Gagai and Uate good but the problem is both massively overpaid, neither are top 3 in their respective positions but are both the highest paid in the game for their positions
