Berrigan will be there, don't be stupid.

Not for me he wont be.

I dont see a need for him, Smith can play 80 minutes, and we need another option out wide.

I would put Bowen in Berrigans spot, and put Hunt into Lock to bring Bowen on.

This would also bring into play the combinations

1. Hunt Hodges and Lockyer
2. Inglis Slater and Smith
3. Thurston and Bowen

Glad you aint a selector! You need someone to cover backs- especially halves. Berrigan is the best in the game at doing that. He'll be there!

Not at all. But Qld will not have a specialist fullback on the bench. It is a complete waste of a bench spot when you have 3 probally 4 fullbacks in the starting lineup anyway (slater, hunt, inglis, and slater). You don't need another one. You need a utility back that covers centres/halves/hooker. That person is berrigan!

with my line up you could do this.

Injury to Lockyer= Hunt to Half, Thurston to 5/8
Injury to Thurston=Hunt to Half
Injury to Hunt=Bowen to FB
Injury to Center=Hunt to Wing, Rogers to Center

I would take all those combinations over Berrigan at any sort of Half, Btw Berrigan cant pass the football on the run

Berrigan on the bench COVERS halves, covers centres, and covers hooker. What happens if Smith gets injured? Bowen aint a hooker! You need a utility back that covers hooker, you need that versatility on the bench. Berrigan and Smith work well together.

Not as well as Berrigan, and he cannot cover centre either. He is a specialist fullback and we have FOUR fullbacks in the starting lineup that can cover fullback.

We have Fullbacks coming out our rassu

1. Bowen
2. Slater
3. Hodges
4. Inglis
5. Wesser
6. Lockyer
7. Hunt

Thats a full fullback option backline, if a try was scored off a high ball i would be pis*ed

That's incredible that all QLD's top fullbacks could form a damn decent backline like that.

As much as I haven't been a fan of picking Bowen for QLD, with the way he's played this year they have to find a spot for him somewhere.

bowen can play in the halves anyway, as can smith and inglis and if you were desperate probably some of the forwards. i know crocker has played 5/8th before.

Where are you picking him! You cannot start him at fullback as we'll end up having another SOO1 2006 episode again and the bench is better with berrigan and 3 forwards.

Anyone that has Bowen or Thaiday near a maroon side wants shot.

Myles..f..k NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although he is overated if he was selected last year on that form I see him being selected again. Although I don't see it happening Game 1 as he isn't playing this week.

Look at his stats. (Myles) I was quite surprise

9.02m Per Hit Up
27 Tackles per average.

Compared to Kafusi who gets...

17 Tackles Per Game
7.61m a Hit Up

Or Michael Crocker

18 Tackles Per Game
6.62m Per Hit Up

I just find making metres per hit up so important, especiall come Origin. Also working in Myles' favour is the fact that none of the backrowers are in good form.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Carlaw get in a look in either...

9.14 Per Hit Up
21 Tackles a Game

Quite reasonable.

Pete, I would rather have Carroll off the bench!

1. Hunt
2. Slater
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. tate
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. Price
9. Smith
10. Civo
11. Crocker
12. Kaufusi
13. Johnson

14. Berrigan
15. Scott
16. Carroll
17. Thaiday

Carroll and Kaufusi to interchange. Or put someone like Lillyman in at 12. I just flat out do not rate Myles. Kaufusi and Crocker have more of a offload!

I wouldn't be at all suprised to see Neville Costigan off the bench in game 1, depends which way the selectors decide to go though.

Actually I agree. I did have him bracketed with Carroll originally. Both are good impact players. I do think they are more likely to give him a go game 2/3 though. Carroll is the less riskier option.
