NBA Off-Season Signings/Trades

Johnson-Odom is a has been at 21 after never playing in the NBA, interesting.

I find the Lin situation quite funny and it perfectly illustrate how badly the Knicks have been run for as long as I can remember. Here you have an organisation that has lived off throwing bad contracts at any player they can find and in the last 10 years the one player out of all them that you would probably take a luxury tax hit for you let him go lol only the Knicks. I don't really see Lin making the Knicks regret it too much, he'll be a good PG but he'll never reach say Chris Paul status but still he's better than most starting point guards in the league and certainly better than a fat Felton.

Melo is really going to have to step it up, Amare as well, because their bubble burst the second he came back in to the team.

As for Dwight Howard, if you're not going to re-sign with the Lakers in HOLLYWOOD with all their history, all the off court things you can do with your life etc because of Shaq then you're a bitch. I'm sick of the D12 drama that's playing out worse than the Lebron saga.

Jamison has signed for a year, i know he is old and did not have the most efficient season last year but as a 6th man with 3-4 other guys as the focus on offence, he can just spot up and shoot the ball, much needed punch to our bench.

Not much of a spot up shooter.

Lin to Houston. Unbelievable a rookie can earn $15M in one season!

As I understand, he would only have earned that 15 mill in Year 3 if the Knicks had kept him. For the Rockets it should be 8/8/8 over the 3 years, as opposed to 5/5/15 from the Knicks.

Lucky for the Rockets that they Knicks didn't match or else they'd be screwed at PG.

Actually I think what I said above is wrong.

The Rockets will indeed pay Lin 5/5/15, but in terms of their cap hit, it will be evenly spread out to be 8/8/8.

"Dwight's position has remained unchanged since the end of this past season," said Dan Fegan of LaGardere Unlimited. "He fully intends to explore free agency at the end of next season, regardless of what team trades for him

I really hope the Lakers get him. They'll be losing Bynum for just 1 guaranteed year of this brat who doesn't know what he wants and changes his mind every 5 minutes. The lols will be epic when he leaves them for Milwaukee or something.

Howard is going to test free agency no matter where he plays.. everyone knows this.. thats what will get him the most dollars.

Lakers with Howard will almost gurantee them the championship next season.. but leave them high and dry the season after..

Pretty hard to turn down a Nash/Kobe/MWP/Gasol/Howard team even if it is for just one season.

Howard is worse than Bynum offensively. Gasol is declining. MWP is declining. Kobe is declining. Nash has nothing defensively. He will be destroyed by the likes of Westbrook and Rondo.

The potential Lakers lineup is a lot more flawed than people think. It looks sexy on paper but there are problems there.

I still wouldn't have them ahead of OKC or Miami.

Pretty much.

He can either sign a 3 year/$60 mill extension before free agency or go into free agency and sign 5 years/$100 mill. No one who trades for Dwight is going to get him to extend before free agency.

Tbh all the Dwight stuff is just background noise to me. No point paying much attention to it until he's officially traded somewhere.

NEW ORLEANS -- The Hornets, Suns and Timberwolves have agreed to a multiplayer trade sending 7-foot center Robin Lopez and forward Hakim Warrick from Phoenix to New Orleans, while moving forward Wesley Johnson and a first-round draft pick from Minnesota to Phoenix, a person familiar with the deal said.

The person told The Associated Press about the trade on condition of anonymity Wednesday because it has not been announced pending the completion of some routine logistical matters.

The deal also sends guard Jerome Dyson and retiring center Brad Miller's $5.1 million contract from New Orleans to Minnesota, allowing the Timberwolves to clear space under the NBA's salary cap as they pursue free agents. Minnesota also will receive two second-round draft picks from New Orleans, while the Hornets will receive cash.

Like it for the Suns. I guess the whole point of the T-Wolves dumping Wes Johnson was to free up room for AK, but did they really have to give up a first rounder (probably protected) to do so? Guess that pick didn't work out too well.

AK-47 isn't worth 10 mil a year wtf T'Wolves.

Nets to start the season with 3 homes games.

Oct 31 - Knicks
Nov 2 - Raptors
Nov 4 - T'Wolves

Looks like another change in the air for the Nets, they have a good number of TV games next season, 17 I counted.

Kirilenko on that much money, f**k he'd be laughing. He was declining before he went to Russia. Do the T'Wolves think he will be this improved player? I like the timberwolves and backing them to nab the 8th spot in the playoffs next season

Clippers have been good With their signings. Lost nothing when we lost Nick Young and got Jamal Crawford. Also liking the addition of Lamar Odom, not only is he a personal favourite of mine from a while back, but he offers some offense off the bench and he should have a better year than what Kenyon Martin had. Back in LA where he belongs. Not gonna lie but I'm going to miss Reggie Evans though.

Clippers also acquired Willie Green today which offers a bit more depth at the 1 and 2.

Oklahoma City forward Serge Ibaka has reached agreement on a four-year, $40-million plus contract extension, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

About the going rate for bigs. Wonder if this has any affects on their plans for Harden?

EDIT: It's actually 4 years/$48 million.
