NBA Off-Season Signings/Trades

All 3 were egomaniacs. AI popularized the thug hip hop culture as well which the league has tried to distance itself from. I'm sentimental to the 90's but the 80's was more pure. It wasn't a fashion statement it was just ballin.

Anyway, at the very least Rondo is top 3 PG but you can't front on Chalmers for his finals series though. I've seen him on ESPN interviewed a few times after the finals and he definitely rates himself as a star of the team lol

I know who they are and what they did. I think i haven't conveyed my point clearly. What i was tring to say was it wasnt the Egos that made the L great in the 80s and 90s, it was the rivalries and general competitiveness. They may have still been friends off the court but definately not on it, these days i dunno, dudes are just too friendly with each other.

Apparently Bosh may be the Heat's full time centre this year. Hopefully this isn't the end of Joel Anthony.

Rasheed Wallace out of retirement and signed with the Knicks.

I don't mind the Knicks roster.. looks alright on paper.

I told you all something like this would happen.

https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA
@WojYahooNBA Oklahoma City has traded James Harden to the Houston Rockets, league sources tell Y! Sports.

@WojYahooNBA
The Rockets send Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and future draft considerations to the Thunder for Harden, sources tell Y! Sports.

@WojYahooNBA
Along with All-Star guard James Harden, the Thunder will send Cole Aldridge, Lazr Hayward and Daquan Cook to the Rockets, source tells Y!

@WojYahooNBA
As part of deal, Thunder will receive "significant" future draft picks from Houston, source tells Y! Sports.

@WojYahooNBA
Talks on an extension broke down between the Thunder and Harden on an extension, and Presti moved quickly to trade him.

Y! Sources: After contract talks break down, OKC trades James Harden to Houston for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, picks. http://nospam.com/8v5mhag

Harden wanted max money. OKC couldn't and wouldn't give it to him. He's now traded. I called it after the finals.

You all were expecting OKC to keep this future superteam together. Well guess what, all those player/owner negotiations were designed to stop that. And we have here the first example of it working.

The tax bill would have been MASSIVE if they paid Harden.

This is the NBA of the future.

On the trade, I don't know what to make of it but I guess if Harden wasn't staying then they didn't have much choie

Now everyone knew it? I recall being told I was stupid for thinking they wouldn't keep all of their key players.

Also, I think OKC have won this trade. They are a very very very well run organisation.

Holy shit, don't know what to think of this trade.

Martin is a great player but getting on a bit now since he is 29. Jeremy Lamb is a great prospect but still too early to tell if he will reach Harden's level. Also getting the Toronto draft pick Houston picked up from the Lowry trade will help.

Ibaka's improvement this off season must of also added a reason to trade Harden.

Ibaka is a completely different player to Harden. Nothing to do with each other. OKC just knew that seeing as they have KD and Westbrook they just didn't have the ability to pay Harden the max money he wanted. A great trade came up and they took it.

They've traded for a good veteran who can play the role Harden did. They got a lottery pick kid who will do a good job being a back up now and potentially be the starter in the future. They also got multiple draft picks in the years to come so they have the ability to keep adding the right role players around their core.

The trade means they don't lose much in the short term and they gain a lot in the long term. IMO even the 50 million they offered Harden was too much, there's no way a good championship contending team can pay Harden max money.

Holy shit I'm legitimately surprised. Kinda figured that OKC and Harden would figure something out.

Happy for the Rockets tbh. They've been trying for ages to find a franchise guy. While Harden isn't at that level atm, he's probably the closest they've had to one since Yao.

I think the Thunder come out of this quite well, given they weren't going to be able to afford to keep Harden anyhow.
