Quayle would have been good instead of Gallop, but not now.

Someone young and with a focus on the game globally.
Someone not working for News Ltd.
Someone who has played the game.
Someone who had a clean image as a player

I'll throw a name out there, as a guide, not who I think should get the gig.

Matt Gidley.

Thats what we should be working from.

For too long the game has been run by old blokes or in the last 15 years, by softcock suits.

Someone who has played the game is at best, a bonus, only a fool would make it a requisite.

The game is a business. Therefore, you need someone with commercial and/or legal savvy at the head to steer the ship in the right direction.

Matt Gidley, you really think he runs that Newcastle ship as the admiral, or is a mere popular ship's captain for the privately owned and run Admiralty in the Hunter Sports Group?

Not everyone in a suit is a softcock.

Would be too likely to flick pass when put under pressure

Why Matthew Gidley? what experience does he have? how about we hire someone with more applicable experience, connections and not an ex leaguie.

I like Howard as mentioned previously also, im not under the impression that we need someone passionate, Searle was passionate, now look at GC, I'd rather experience and strong leadership, couldn't give a rats about passion tbh. I would really look at a GM in the NFL..

I like applesauces idea of John Howard, brains and experience with balancing a book or two.

If not that, then look to mining and metallurgy and pick from there as people from these companies, who need not be CEO, are already used to:

- Dealing with the media that despise them
- Managing assets worth billions
- Telling people stuck in old ways to freshen up or GTFO
- Hardarse negotiation

Issues with TV rights?
f**k that, we'd have that merkin knocked over by now with an agreed minimum of a billion and bonuses for certain ratings benchmarks being met to be divided between the clubs.

Enough ex players, we want credible businessman running the show, Madunit is a smart guy, but f**k me that was a bad mention

I like his financial and business acumen... he could con us into a super TV deal.

Mal Meninga should have a go. A visionary that could take the game to the next level.
His first press conference would be to say he got nothing out of the game.

His second press conference would be to introduce the 5 other CEO's he has doing the job for him.

His third press conference would be to call the judiciary "rats and filth", and in response would punt all NSW clubs, then implode up his own arse.

John Howard -. A senile old f*ckwit who would only sign white players. He would have backed the Storm in the salary cap dilemma - free market. Besides, that tongue has still got the brown stain fro Dubya's arse.

The arguments for John Fahey are compelling.

What would be the arguments against him?

Canterbury supporter.

Besides, Politicians would not make good CEO's - they all have learned to toe the party line and submit to the powerbrokers, and for Libs that means big business - the very people we need to be strong with.

Johnny is a Saints supporter, he would have kicked melbourne out, something Gallop lacked the stones to do.
