Moylan and Hayne were hardly in sizzling form in 2017. The only thing in Moylans favour is age. That’s it.

It’s a punt getting him here, a punt based on potential, but it’s all a gamble isn’t it.

It is, especially with Dugan in the team as well.

I don't care who runs out in 2018 as long as I can watch line breaks, backer upperers, line breaks, long distant tries, supports and linebreaks, and if I am really optermistic I would like to see "the old outside inside" move work once.

I know it is a big call but hey, I'm a glass half full type of a guy.

With the inclusion of Duges and Moylan we have something in our side that we lacked for the whole of the 2017 season and that is spark.

The exit of Barba had huge ramifications on our attacking play which proved how we limped into the semis.

I think Flanno has done well with the additions of Moylan and Duges.

One thing we can’t fault Flanno on is he targets big names in recruitment. Hopefully this current recruitment drive gels.

Snoop do you think we have a chance of getting Angus Crichton or do you think he’s just using us to bump up his price at Souths?

Barba
Ennis
Gorman

We have to rebuild.
We climbed tbe mountain in 2016 and back to back was never happening as its too damn hard getting the same squad to go there again.

Maloney was exhibit A in this.
We squeezed every drop of juice from the lemon to win the GF..
He probably needs a new challenge himself.

Moylan. Dugan.
We are shaping a new squad.
Brailey.
We need a new halfback.
Chads done the job we brought him back for.
Probably reached his peak.

Probably right to start blooding young Flanagan ala Nathan Cleary.
See what comes out of it.

This narrative that Maloney hasn't been good for us is insane. Without him we don't beat the Cowboys and make the GF.

The narrative that he had a poor season due to contract stuff is untrue. He had a bad year because he didn't have Ennis and Barba. He was our only attacking weapon and was getting shut down. He never asked for a release. He was told he could get a new contract and we would let him go as we thought we would land Cronk. Cronk wouldn't return our calls so we told him to suck it up and play out your deal. Imagine work telling you, you are leaving... You get a better offer and then get told the approvals were not in place to get the release so now you have to stay. This all happened AFTER the season.

The plan was to force Maloney to stay one more year and bring in Moylan. Panthers put a transfer fee on Moylan that we couldn't work with so we gave in and released Maloney. I'm interested to see what we do with the amount of left over cash...
