I said in another thread that I thought that bird would be our Blake Austin. Very similar type of player. Hopefully he plays what is in front of him and that isn't coached out. Enthusiasm is infectious.

End of last season we had enthusiasm but much less skilled players. Most are playing reserve grade somewhere else.
This year we have much better play, we just need the enthusiasm back

Nothing a win wouldn't fix.

Shame we are playing the Roosters, they are the form team imo.

Bird & Holmes (young blokes, in general) provide enthusiasm, yet another reason to not choose incumbents all the bloody time.

The only reason we brought Murphy, he was Barbas room mate in Brisbane. Him and Darren Nicholls were the guys keeping Barba on the straight and narrow.
We tried to get Nicholls as well but Bennett wanted to work with him so we got Stanley.

Chances are we go back for Nicholls as we have no halves now. All our back ups are done.

So we purchase a player to keep another who is a adult on the straight and narrow, so Barba cannot as an adult and father keep himself on the straight and narrow, dosent show much for his attitude, considering the amount of people who each day go to work and look after a family and can control themselves.

Did we sign D.Fifita to keep his brother happy as well if that is the case has the club basically signed 2 players who on there own merits would not be signed

Is that why we resigned Flanno, to keep Carney on the straight & narrow?

You would hope not, these players are old enough to look after themselves, imagine everytime you employed someone you need to employee a minder as well.

So when Denver Broncos drafted Tim Tebow did he need a minder no, his head was screwed on right, these players are getting paid enough money to understand that they need to ensure for the period of time employed they behave

Tebow was one of the biggest flops in recent memory, wildly unsuccessful. He was out of the league in 3 years. What is your point again?

Haha tebow. Tebow fever came and went pretty quickly. Had a lot of good things going for him but if a coach wants to play a certain way that doesn't suit your style then you are screwed. Next minute your a commentator for college ball.

Sound familiar??

The point he didnt need a minder, he was able to handle himself off field, Barba & Carney could take that as example.

I dont know why some players cannot handle themselves, most people in there age bracket would love to be doing that job but you have a handful who have no respect for what they can obtain, so we need to sign other to mind for them, they are grown adults they do not need people to loom after them, they should be able to look after themselves

Tebow didn't need a minder, what he needed was skills to keep him on the field. I don't care how nice you are off the field, if you can't play, you can't play. Barbs can play which in the end keep him in a job

What's the go with that signing?? Austin, sezer, Williams and Cornish, don't fit into two spots.

The way Austin is going he is their number one half.
