I think Maloney looks good when he is the non dominant half but struggles being the main man.

Coote and Moylan are too small to be origin halves.

If the halves are an issue, that means we might need a playmaking fullback like a Coote or Moylan.

I worry they'll choose Pearce and JReynolds

Pretty sure both are as big if not bigger than JT and Cronk

Size has very little to do with things

Coote and Moylan are both bigger than Maloney. Moylan is the same size as Pearce.

Sounds like Maloney's in the box seat to be picked at 6. Will be interesting to see how he goes up against the Broncs on Sunday.

I read an article stating that he may be a look in at 7...

CBF finding it...interesting though. WOuldn't be the worst option.

My point is the ability to handle the workload.

Hmm ok. Well that is a fair concern in regards to the defensive work, but FBs do run a lot more than other players so they should be fit enough. It is a different workload to what they are used to, not a bigger one. Coote is actually a good defender I wouldn't be worried bout him at all, Moylan a little bit but defensively he has improved a lot this year.

Definition of stupidity is trying the exact same thing over and over again while expecting a different result.

Halves are looking dire at the moment.
Pearce hasn't played.
Maloney looks ok in a winning team.
Sezer looks sometimes ok in a shithouse team.
Hodkinson looks awful in a shithouse team.
Reynolds looks awful in a shithouse team.

It's funny that you even mentioned Mythchell.

Coote is a great defender at fullback. In origin he could be asked to make up to 30 tackles. Requires a completely different fitness. To ask him to do it in origin makes it even harder. A better fullback anyway. Moylan hasn't proven he can manage the workload at all and would be a huge risk.

Mate if James Moloney is asked to make 30 tackles on origin we have lost. We aren't going to win this without taking a risk, we had two good defensive halves last year and got 50 put on.

But if Coote is at fullback then he can be a third playmaker and help out our halves who may not be in the greatest form.

Sezer and Maloney with Coote? Could work.

Think Daley will pick 3 fullbacks? i could see Coote or Moylan on the bench with the pther starting. Dugan at centre. Especially if Daley is considering Coote or Moylan as a half. Utility spot might be his chance to test it without fully committing.

Hell i wouldn't be surprised if he sits a fullback on the bench and doesn't use him.

Totally agree. Watch Dugan or worse still, Hoppa get picked at fullback instead though.

With Tedesco gone, and Coote in career best form, I'm doing a rethink.

1. Lachlan Coote
2. Michael Jennings
3. Josh Morris
4. Josh Dugan
5. Blake Ferguson
6. James Maloney
7. Aiden Sezer
8. James Tamou
9. Michael Ennis
10. Aaron Woods
11. Tyson Frizell
12. Paul Gallen
13. Wade Graham

14. Matthew Moylan
15. Andrew Fifita
16. David Klemmer
17. Bryce Cartwright

I don't really like Ferguson on the wing, but given he's been picked there for Australia outside Dugan, it seems very likely to happen.

We all know Pearce will be there, but it's nice to dream for a little while longer.

I don't think Pearce will be picked. Selecting him for NSW would re-open the discussion on the Australia Day Incident and have every feminist commentator in the land gunning for the NRL once again. I think the game can do without such a situation at this point in time.
