I don't think Pearce will be picked. Selecting him for NSW would re-open the discussion on the Australia Day Incident and have every feminist commentator in the land gunning for the NRL once again. I think the game can do without such a situation at this point in time.

Pearce will 100% get picked now. Shame.

Sezer had his first try assist of the season yesterday against the Panthers...that's not good enough for a potential Origin half. He was poor when the game was on the line. In saying that I would still have him over Pearce...heck I would let Daley lace up before Pearce.

Tedesco goes alright. Really we have 3 good ball playing options in Tedesco, Coote and Moylan. Dugan is a strong ball runner. But the Dragons attack would probably look much better with any of the other 3 at the back.

Looking at the city country lineups it seems that Pearce won't even need to trial for the NSW team.

How many years do we have to repeat what a farce it is?

Pearce is 27 now. He could reasonably play Origin until he was 33 at least. So it's easy to see that he'll possibly be playing Origin half until then.

I just had an awful Vision.

The year is 2021. IBM has just become prime minister following a campaign which featured the slogan "never heard of the f**ker" (in terms of politics, incredibly appealing to the Australian psyche).

Trent Barrett is entering his third origin campaign for the blues as coach, having been summarily dismissed as manly coach following an incident where he was (again) doing push-ups in his underwear at the pub. The club wasn't upset that he was in his underwear, cherry Evans got upset because he realised Trent can still do more push-ups than daly can.

Mitchell Pearce is in Thailand. He is under suspension and attending rehab due to an alcohol fueled cat related incident.

Barrett issues a press release stating:

"we are all hoping Mitchell makes a full recovery. He is a fine young man who has made one simple error and the whole world wants to crucify him for it. Mitchell is our captain and an important part of this team and when he returns he will return to the team in time for game 1 in Darwin. We are very confident that our forwards can overcome QLD's aging roster and secure another victory, which we have worked so hard for since 2014".

Damn you rbm. Damn you to hell.

Well, he did show in just his only game all season that he's still one of the two best NSW eligible halves.

Yeah, I know it was against Newcastle, and it was within the Roosters structure in where he has felt most comfortable. Unfortunately, there aren't too many other decent NSW halves organising their teams to consistent victories in the NRL.

Pearce has been shit at Origin-level, but I'm I the belief that his failures is a symptom of the culture of NSW generally. Many good club players have gone into this team in the last 10years and looked lost amongst the selfishness of Gallen, Bird and Farah. This era could've been a lot different for many NSW reps.

So kicking out on the full, butchering over laps and dribbling the ball to oppositions feet is all due to the "culture of NSW"?

Please. Mitchell is just not up to it. Him mouthing off to JT in game 2 last year shows the guy doesnt have the skill, mentality nor the maturity for Origin football

Given his history off the field, I think it's obvious that he doesn't have maturity, full stop!

NSW have had a dearth of halves who can consistently play well at club level over the years, let alone at Origin. Those that put patches together, such as Maloney and Soward, have been immediately pin pointed as a weakness by Hagan.

Besides, if Gallen and Farah get the call up, which is basically a given, I'd rather see Pearce picked again rather than poison potential rep players like Sezer or Austin. Pearce is a lost cause, and NSW origin is a lost cause while Gallen, Bird, Farah and Scott continue to represent.

Just think folks. All of these 'Origin Hack hyped as Hero' types like Gallen and Pearce when they retire, due to their extensive Origin experience, will take their place among those who coach or officially assist in the NSW Blues Origin camps.

Expect to see their gleeful faces around Origin time, for decades to come.

1 game against the team running last = consistent victories...
