Tedesco is the best option at fullback. It should be a no brainer because we lost the game in the spine

If Tedesco is the best option at fullback why did they pick Moylan? I would have picked Coote but believe that having made their choice they now need to stick by it.

Moylan had a mixed game but what needs to happen is he needs to be supported so he can give the backline some timely ball. This is what he was selected for. You select a fullback with a passing game, surely you run some drills where the outside backs run plays off him. It didn't happen whatsoever (except for Mansour). The lack of a decent 10 metres didn't help in this regard, and neither did the poor service from dummy half of Farah, which I expect is why Moylan went to dummy half quite a bit.

The game was lost on an extremely dodgy penalty in front of the sticks, and a poor kick at goal. Even if it was the spine that was the difference (which it wasn't except they weren't as familiar with each other's play), you want to make just one of them the scapegoat.

What tickles me is that when QLD gets a mountain of possession on the Blues tryline and wallop the Blues, the cry goes up: "Well of course you guys are going to win with that much of the possession in that part of the park getting that many repeat sets".

So what happens when NSW get that much possession in that part of the park with that many repeat sets?

Possession was 51-49 NSW in the first game. Hardly a mountain of possession. Neither side was able to do much with what they had because of the non-policing of the 10 metres.

If you don't believe Tedesco is the best option at fullback I'll leave you at this highlights video if you have the time to watch - https://youtube.com/watch?v=f6SVleV5wH8

Mind you this is all in a 4 year, injury riddled time line

Before Teddys injury he was leading try scorer, leading tackle busts, also leading running meters I believe

Moylan is great but he's more of a ball player imo, not a running fullback. Also if you don't think Phil Gould had a massive influence on Moylans selection you've got rocks, he is the most hyped NSW player I can remember and that gets you places (re Jarrod Mullen for example)

Damn now I sound like a suck up lol. Just really think he is the missing puzzle to a successful NSW team

What a ridiculous assertion. Phil Gould returned to the Panthers mid-2011, just about 5 years ago. In that time, the ONLY Penrith player prior to the current series to play Origin for NSW was Luke Lewis in 2011-12 (after which he went to the Sharks). That includes 2014 when the side were top 4 and made the preliminary final.

If Gould had the clout with the NSW selectors you suggest, you'd think there'd have been a few more players selected for NSW

So do you or do you not agree he deserves to be NSW fullback.

I personally think he should be Australian fullback yet alone NSW

That's because there hasn't really been any justifiable Riff players since. Soward, Cartwright and of course Mansour were all in the frame of mind this year

Michael Jennings played 2011/12 series ? also whilst at Panthers

Wby cant a player be dropped after one game? It happens all the time in test cricket. Are rugby league players so precious?

Tedesco is the best option at fullback. It should be a no brainer because we lost the game in the spine

the game was lost by not converting attacking zone opportunities into points. dunno how much clout a fullback has here.

you'd think the guy who gets his hands on the pill the most and can direct where the ball will go has more of an influence here...........but he's undroppable for NSW, even if he were to get dropped by his club.

Tedesco? Maybe he does at some stage of his career, it is not in fact my call, but as I said before, he may have to wait a little longer because the best interests of NSW winning this series and future series as well would not be served by putting him in there now.

And this is not about who deserves what but what is best for the team, not just in the coming game but in future years as well. Dropping people mid-series after one game does not benefit the team. You've got to choose carefully first time.

For the same reason, I would not drop Robbie Farah at this stage. I wouldn't drop anyone except Walker.

Dropping Farah will benefit NSW more than dropping Walker.

But Teddy is NSWs best fullback by a mile. He's a freak.

Meanwhile, awesome performance by Jack Bird.

Loz & Bozo should be sacked for picking Walker on the bench over him. Gross incompetence.

Morris should go too. Too slow now. Bird and Dugan in. I'd be happy with Tedesco over Moylan. I think Moylan is massively overrated but will probably keep his spot. Wade Graham in for Cordner.

If Dugan were available there is no question he'd go in for Morris. But he's injured, probably for the entire series.

Hey if you guys are interested in a centre there is a fat baby at Canberra who is probably the best player in the comp at the moment. Certainly the best centre. Now as the Raiders have a disease called RAIDS and one of the symptoms of RAIDS is choking the second you are hyped up at all expect BJ to stink it up against the Broncos but he would actually fit the Walker bench role because Daley can just chuck him on the field to break some tackles and run amok.

Yeah yeah i know his history too but his form is out of this world.

I'm a huge fan of the BJ. He's been out of this world this year; especially the past six weeks.

I'd go:

4. Bird
17. Leilua

In a heartbeat. But hey, I'm not a genius like Loz and Bozo. Who surely will pick Walker again; lest they admit to a disaster error.

Pick Tedesco at fullback, it would be great having another rookie there dropping balls.

Have a newbie for each game of the series in fact.

Considering he's only dropped probably 1 bomb all year, and didn't drop any high pressure kicks against Roosters in abysmal weather he is pretty safe. So you'd rather arguably the most damaging attacking player in the game line up against QLD?

Problem with rookies is people expect them to carry club form into origin and get shocked when they don't perform. Has there ever been a stand out origin performance debut apart from Joey Johns?
