Firstly It’s don’t mistake spelling lol. Also a lack of grammar does indicate a lack of education which doesn’t necessarily help your argument.

Secondly, you have suggested multiple times that somebody else is an idiot or clueless, mainly because they don’t fit your rather narrow and conservative worldview. If you don’t like the shoe being on the other foot, so to speak, maybe you shouldn’t act or write in such a contumelious manner

Thirdly on to the crux of your post: Why are you suggesting that the NRL would be bankrolling them? No team, barring the Broncos, would have been sustainable on football operations alone and every club is backed by a wealthy leagues club or a multimillionaire/billionaire (the second scenario becoming more and more prominent). None of them are directly bankrolled by the NRL, outside of a grant that the clubs have negotiated and thus entitled to.

If a team from Perth is chosen it is because a) the government over there has found an individual or individuals to back it, b) the NRL have vetted the bid/location and they see it as financial sustainable and c) the broadcasters want it more than another NZ side.

You’ve essentially created a scenario that suits your agenda and then disingenuously have not applied those parameters to any other proposed location.

You’ve never once demanded that a second NZ side, or the North Sydney Bears, or any other location have private ownership or off field support when you know full well that any team would have to have that. It’s why your argument about the matter is complete bull****.

At least be honest and say I don’t want a team in Perth because I don’t like the area or it won’t produce players, rather than creating a scenario that is not likely to exist or applying arguments to one that you don’t apply to everybody else.

Whatever u prissy biatch. So NRL aren't going to fund it, only broncos make profit from football operations & there's no white knight for the sport over there other than backdoor Benny. Good thing you've been campaigning for Perth team all these years.

Who do you think is backing a NZ2 team and how do you think they will achieve a $12million plus revenue? Have you thought this through?

Pippens posts make me laugh especially seeing how much they trigger two of the biggest fools on this forum

dunno why he’s arguing with you if anything your probably a fan of nz 2

I still think Perth are favourites for team 18

what I want is irrelevant

But i hope the warriors do well and things change

I haven't advocated for any bid. I've played devil's advocate for bears & Brisbane3. Successful bid will need to meet viability criteria like dolphins

Now that I’ve stopped laughingthis was about the level of response I was expecting.

Translation being - I (Pippen) don’t have a retort, I have been absolutely smashed in an argument and exposed for being dishonest. Nevertheless, I can’t admit that so I’ll channel Ike Turner to make me feel better.

See this is the problem with people that are either dumb or dishonest: they don’t want to apply or can’t understand logic. That’s because logic defeats their emotions or feelings every time.

Essentially the point was that you don’t know whether there is or there isn’t somebody or something that will fund a team in Perth. Same as with another NZ team. Or North Sydney (gold help us) or anywhere else that’s at least somewhat realistic. All you can apply is a judgement based on probability and until an actual bid (including it’s details) is chosen that’s all one can do. At that time you can be that prissy bitch and moan as much as you like about whether something should be chosen or not.

Now have a lie down, chuck on a replay of some old match involving Newtown or North Sydney or Western Suburbs, you know before all those terrible non Sydney sides ruined it for you, and have a good old reminisce

Every point you raised I already stated here in fact all within this week.

Wb123456 even questioned why there was an argument.

I think my posting style must rub you the wrong way & brings out ur supercilious side.

😂 😂Well where are the facts then? Are you privy to the negotiations? Have they concluded or are they still ongoing? Are you travelling from the future and know conclusively that there isn’t a person or a collection of people that will bankroll or won’t bankroll Perth in the end? That it will be different to NZ 2? Or North Sydney et al.

All you are saying is that you don’t think there will be somebody who will fund it. That’s a key difference. Same as I’ve said that I think they should be able to based on probability (economics of the region, the size of the population etc) That doesn’t mean that they will or they won’t - because nobody knows this.

You are not stating a fact, you are stating an opinion based on a clearly evident bias - that’s it.

The groups we have heard from over the years interested in bidding for a NZ2 team:

2014 -
A BID for a second New Zealand NRL team based in Wellington has been launched with the aim of entering the competition in the 2018 season.
They point to the 17 per cent (72) of NRL players who come from New Zealand, the success of the Auckland Nines tournament and the Warriors winning three of the past five under-20s NYC grand finals.
It is understood the consortium comprises four people, some of whom have a background in rugby league.
“The interest in rugby league is at an all-time high in New Zealand due to the great work of the NZRL, the Warriors, the success of the Auckland Nines and the triumphs of the national team,” consortium spokesman Robert Picone told Fairfax Media.

'May 2021- Former NZRL chairman Andrew Chalmers has officially launched a $30 million bid for a second New Zealand team based in Wellington and representing the lower North Island and South Island, including Christchurch
Chalmers, who was in charge of the NZRL when the Kiwis won the 2008 World Cup, has formally advised the NRL of the bid to become the 18th team ahead of a series of meetings in Wellington next week with representatives of Sky Stadium and the NZ Campus of Innovation and Sport.'
"Coming from the original bid in 1991 to 30 years later, I am committed to seeing a second side in New Zealand based out of Wellington and I believe that we can submit a compelling proposition that will meet the NRL’s strategic and economic objectives."
If successful, Chalmers said the Wellington bid would:
  • Play out of Sky Stadium and take regular matches to Christchurch, where a new 25,000-seat stadium is being built;
  • Establish regional high-performance academies for junior male and female talent in the lower North Island and South Island;
  • Create an elite women’s team with aspirations to play in the NRLW;
  • Provide NZ$30 million in capital to ensure the club’s financial viability

Then there was the Hawaiian-Tongan ex NFL consortium interested in buying Warriors who may be interested in a new club instead .
2018-
"Hi, I'm Richard. I'm here from Hawaii to buy the Warriors. Can I come in?"
As an opening gambit it's hard to beat, and some Auckland households will be in for a shock next week, as the CEO of the Tongan-American consortium that hopes to buy the Warriors turns up at their door.
Hawaii politician Richard Fale, who is heading a group of former and current NFL players that want to purchase the NRL club, is in Auckland and wants to talk to locals about the Warriors.
He hopes to sit in lounge rooms – from Howick to Herne Bay, Mt Albert to Manurewa – to help assess the feeling towards the Auckland club.

I wouldn't be surprised if tourist resorts lined up with a Perth or NZ-based team. One thing that rugby league can provide New Zealand and Western Australian businesses that rugby union cannot is an increased profile in Queensland and NSW.

Would XXXX or Tooheys be interested in sponsoring a Perth-based team?

We've seen Victoria Bitter try to worm their way into the Queensland and NSW market by sponsoring rugby league.

Is XXXX sold in New Zealand?

I think whichever nations miss out will tour the uk but not certain

tonga vs anyone at mt smart stadium is a guaranteed sell out

then maybe one day look to Eden park

CommBank in parra is ideal for tests due to capacity and proximity to islanders living in the far west
You are right a game featuring Tonga or Samoa would sell out at Parra or Mt Smart these days. A double header involving Aus, NZL, Tonga & Samoa would surely sell-out Eden Park and Suncorp and possibly draw 50k plus at ANZ.

I’m sure Wookie can add more accurate data but a quick look suggests over $6billion is spent on subscriptions for streaming and ptv In australia a year and advertising revenue is around $1.8billion On those platforms.

In terms of estimated revenue, Streamotion – the Foxtel-owned platform for Binge and sporting stream company Kayo – beat out Netflix with $15.1m in the past 12 months in Australia, compared to $12.3m for Netflix. Disney Plus was also estimated to beat out both, with $56.1m, followed by TikTok ($28m) and Amazon ($17.6m).

Have you ever seen a revenue split for Foxtel/Kayo in terms of areas it generates its revenue in ie subscriptions, advertising, other?
