The Warriors have already dropped 'New Zealand' from the name. They are already called 'The' WarriorsWhat would a second New Zealand team call itself?
I cannot imagine the Warriors will drop "New Zealand" from their name. Nor can I see them reverting back to "Auckland".
Having two teams called New Zealand would be too confusing. If NZ2 is named after a small region like Wellington or Christchurch then it'll struggle for relevance.
Auckland cannot support two teams. That rules out bringing in a second team that's called "Auckland".
Does NZ2 go down the same route as the Redcliffe Dolphins and call itself "The"?
I think they are confused who they are lol. In news articles and press releases they call themselves 'the One New Zealand Warriors' after their sponsor. Other web areas and on jersey they call themselves just Warriors and on other things they still have NZ Warriors. Twitter account is 'One NZ Warriors@NZWarriors'. Their brand is a bit of a mess tbhThe Warriors have already dropped 'New Zealand' from the name. They are already called 'The' Warriors

In a country with a population of over 90% "white" does this show a massive decline in local born players taking up the game? Is this the beginning of the end?
One day this will be something like 80 percent of players
great stuff
Like NFL it just shows some body types are better suited to high collision sports. Also RL attracts a certain social demographic from certain geographical areas which these population groups are higher represented in. Its neither good or bad, its just a combination of those two factors. In a country with a population of over 90% "white" does this show a massive decline in local born players taking up the game? Unless you're hitting 90-100kg plus at 17 the chances of making it through the grades to NRL are growing ever smaller as the high collision size and strength way the game is played now demands certain sized players. Not many white kids are that size by that age is the reality.
They already are to some degree. Look at participation rates in lesser collision sports. At early jnr level its still quite mixed from what I've seen. Its when you hit 14+ the gap emerges. That's very true, But what happens down the road when those players decide to play a game their children are more suited to? If 90% of the population can't play League will they turn to AFL? or Soccer? or like NZ, Basketball?

Blacks are overrepresented in basketball too. They are just built more athletic. I have an African American friend in the states who looks like he works out but actually does nothing and works in an office. That's very true, But what happens down the road when those players decide to play a game their children are more suited to? Hard to compete physically when they are 190 to 200 cm, weighing at 90 to 100 kgs plus and can run like the windBlacks are overrepresented in basketball too. They are just built more athletic. This is why the real untapped talent is in Jamaica and fiji
And London! Id love for UKRL to get Govt funded to really focus on the London estates, stop the kids stabbing each other and get them playing RL!Blacks are overrepresented in basketball too.
