Where in NZ are you from?Someone has to counter your idiocy.... It's a community service.

Well that's really nice mate. Well done.I played for Randwick, Marist Northern and Parramatta, coached and was an administrator for The Kingfishers, if you know anything about League in NZ, you should be able to figure it out.
How long have you been in Australia?I played for Randwick, Marist Northern and Parramatta, coached and was an administrator for The Kingfishers, if you know anything about League in NZ, you should be able to figure it out.
How long have you been in Australia?
So if the NRL injected millions in funding for juniors and pathways in the greater Wellington area over a few years before any team being placed there, would you be behind it?I have never lived and have no desire to ever live in Australia.

Totally agree. Not just Wellington, In other regions as well. Otherwise Wellington would pull the few players left in other regions killing the comps there. They need to fund the NZRL to allow the comps in all regions to get back onto an even footing before bringing in another team.
Totally agree.
The original proposal did state as such.
Provided a similar proposal came forward, I'm glad you'd support it.
Grand plans: Inside the $30m bid for a second New Zealand team
$30m bid launched for a second New Zealand team based in Wellington, representing lower North Island and South Islandwww.nrl.com
The funding model now in the NRL is a club grant of around 17 million annually and 12 million cap. Meaning all clubs are profitable currently and into the future. That guy is a con man and I wouldn't support anything he put forward, not that it matters now, he lost is funding.

If the NRL wanted a second NZ team, there will be plenty of people put their hand up to bid.
Increased funding for junior pathways and development, and increased professional presence that would allow local players to stay in NZ and play professionally. An increase in Rugby league awareness and overall profile of the sport helping local clubs attract juniors.
I would be great for rl in NZ.
Well that's sad mate, I'm totally behind you on that. More need to be done to support local clubs. In Australia there's grants and funding from government for sport that are mostly non discriminatory. I remember playing as a junior my parents were given at least equal the club fees.Tell that to St George.
Unless there is millions spent well before hand there wont be the juniors to fill the pathways, most districts and provinces are barely hanging on. Wellington is no exception. Of the three Junior clubs I played for one 1 is still around.
Hopefully just a start of more positives for the game moving forward in nzTell that to St George.

It would be great to see more initiative from the NRL but in reality they've already started that process. However it won't have an immediate impact but over time things will improve.
Behind a pay wall but effectively Roy masters is backing a New Zealand team.
The Te Whare effect: Why New Zealand should be focus of NRL expansion
New Dolphins cult sensation Valynce Te Whare is both the symptom and the solution to the NRL’s Beige Age where talent has been spread thin across the league.www.smh.com.au
It's certainly true and sad. The positive though is the emergence of touch and tag and the ability for us to nurture the talented kids through gives us the great entertainment we see today. That may have been true once upon a time, but the lack of kids playing contact sports is more of an issue than anything else. We are in the second playstation generation where kids would rather play online than outside. It's been getting worse for 30 years and I can't see that changing. But investing in clubs and getting them the tools to try and get kids involved might work, but that needs to come from somewhere. It's not going to come from the NZRL, they are broke, the ARL(Auckland one) still has plenty of money from the sale of Carlaw Park, but even they can't turn around the trend. It needs the millions from the NRL, and years of it.
Yes but it would damage Australian nrl clubs, good luck convincing them to be altruistic for the sake of NZ RLThe funding model now in the NRL is a club grant of around 17 million annually and 12 million cap. Meaning all clubs are profitable currently and into the future.
