And then we'll culminate both countries figures....
Warriors broncos
Nz 108k
Aus 600k
Total 708k

Blues vs reds
Nz 100k
Aus 20k
Total 120k

I wonder which sport is more relevant 🤔

when you know your argument is flawed what do you do? You add irrelevant data to it. Or as in the Blues vs Reds game you make it up.

Australian figures mean absolutely nothing. That means that League is king in aussie... WOW... major headline... up there with water being wet.

This thread is about the games in NZ. Which shows a completely different outcome.

Using a mans tragedy to support a petty argument is low

No dumbarse, i used a news story to illustrate just why participation in both rugby's is tanking in NZ. It was pertinent to the thread given the posts previous about junior numbers declining.

Still incorrect to show aus tv figures
Should be just nz tv to build a comparison, so if 100k v 108k then its pretty on par, but to use 2 nzru teams to put shit on the warriors, thats not a fair assessment, of anything using the 2 nzru teams will be a marker of where leagues figures would get to if there was another Nz2 for league

Numerous reports from kiwi journalists and fans of both codes say they are getting bored of super rugby and switching to the nrl

at the same time whilst union junior numbers are collapsing more and more kiwi kids are getting nrl spots than ever before

the nrl provides the highest quality club competition with the best players

ofc it’s going to take away from union now super rugby is on the nose

the warriors are now the biggest rugby club in Auckland if not all of nz

That is just some more blatant bullshit. NO "kiwi journalists and fans of both codes say they are getting bored of super rugby and switching to the nrl" that is simply you making shit up.

BOTH Rugby and League Junior numbers are collapsing, and have been for the better part of a decade...

And The Warriors are nowhere near the "biggest rugby club in Auckland" let alone NZ.

Well they're certainly getting bored & preferring to attend Warriors games over stupor wugby games in NZ aren't they ?
The game V Souths in 3 weeks is all but sold out .......... again

I see them making the finals , bottom of the 8 , 5th or 6th & hosting a final
Eden park & 45K in attendance anyone ?

The warriors haven't even had the biggest crowd in Auckland this year. And it's not contest on TV, The Warriors are a clear second to Super Rugby.

And no they wont be playing a potential home final at eden park Only and idiot of a ceo would put a one off payoff vs the chance of a home win at a sold out Mt Smart. Have you ever even played a team sport??

The article I quoted made an excuse for the Auckland blues having lowest crowds vs the Aussie teams

like who do the warriors play each week

a final should be at eden park a sell out there will emphasise how dominant our game is now in Auckland

instead of comparing the competitions directly, perhaps compare the growth/decline of each against each other
That will tell you if the NRL is increasing at the expense of Super Rugby or not

It is fairly clear that rugby union is more popular in NZ than rugby league, however, you could make the argument that one is growing more than the other

There simply isnt the data available for either side to say for certain. We dont have registered player numbers, tv audiences or even crowd sizes to compare.

nrl revenue 630 million
Nzru and ra revenue combined 300 million

nrl salary cap going up
