Nrl tv deal 430 million pa
Nz and aus tv deal including internationals 125 million

nrl revenue 630 million
Nzru and ra revenue combined 300 million

nrl salary cap going up
Wages in union going down

nrl adding teams super rugby looking at cutting teams
that is a comparison of growth
have those revenues been going up/down at different rates?

Rugby Australia’s collapsed after foxtel cut their tv deal

they get a boost from one off tours like England but then the next year fall again

Stan are getting awful ratings for the union

going forward super rugby could die off all together

Not sure that really says much as NRL is predominantly Aus based and therefore changes in tv deals and revenue is mostly related to Australia not NZ. Looking at what's happening in NZ for RLvRU alone is much more difficulty, largely as the NRL is so small to start with.

no doubt rugby league is on the up in Australia while union is stagnating at best
What about in NZ?

What he doesn't mention about NZR is that TV money only equates to half of their income, and Super Rugby only about 10% of that. And their revenue was up by almost 40%.

And given Player pay is directly tied to income, players will have received a near 40% increase this year.

To sum up some of the thread: Domestic league is in trouble, it's flat lined in some of the regions, and is getting more Auckland focused. The Warriors are getting good crowds and hype and building some structures that may or may not be fruitful in the future - but it's the Warriors, if they start losing the hype will go (hopefully the current coaching team can keep them up there). There appear to be no bids for NZ2.

You get dumber with every post. He did not break it down by country. And there is no need to work it it, all you have to do is look at the annual report.

It really hurts you that NZR is doing well, Super Rugby Viewership is up, and The Warriors are only getting 108K viewer's for their blockbuster. I say the Warriors, because there is no word about any other NRL game, and historically most didn't even make it to the ratings threshold.

Im not sure what the argument is here tbh.
Swans by attendance and revenue are the biggest club in Sydney, but you wouldnt say AFL is even close to NRL in Sydney. Its likely Warriors will be the same, could one day get to be the biggest club in NZ but that doesn't mean RL will ever come close to RU in revenue or participation in that country. Adding another NRl cloub to NZ doesn't change that, adding 5 and an extra $50mill a year in funding might, but that aint going to happen

Keep telling yourself that.. according to you selling shares in a company is being "bailed out"... And the 40% increase in revenue is purely a coincidence. It's really hurting you.

pretty funny toffball managed to release ratings data when it’s favourable to them on one occasion

wonder how they know what a rival sport rates when it’s supposed to be commercial in confidence

it’s a carefully managed stage act of drip feeding any favourable information whilst sweeping everything else under the carpet
