And once again you show just how little you know about anything in NZ.

[Re: Auckland Council]
They are led by a mayor who has stated he will cut spending in all areas not increase it. A mayor who wont see any value in a vanity project that will cost tens of millions for SFA return.
Good point. Auckland's Mayor is as dry as dehydrated sand.

He'll have to to be pulled kicking & screaming into funding anything.

While I'm happy for a NZ2 or a NZ3 if the NRL wants to fund them, Origin can f**K off.

The rules are set up to either exclude NZers or to get NZers to switch their allegiance, while that's in place it should stay in Australia.
Theyre not doing it for the good of the game in NZ, its a cash grab. Dont blame them for that but lets not pretend this is somehow about growing RL in NZ. Its about raising revenue using one of the games top products. If NZ cant stump up the cash to host it, it wont happen.

whoosh, the sound of the point made going over your head. I said taking Origin games to other cities is not about growing the game, its about making money.

Its also arguable about how much one off event games does grow a game in any meaningful way. I don't really see any signs that having two origins in Perth has grown the game here.
Its good for publicity and to keep people reminded in t= hese cities that rugby league exists, and goive the starved Rl fans in those cities something to get excited about, but I doubt it is doing any more than that in reality.
And its not like people in Auckland dont know RL exists is it? If you were using it to grow the game you'd be taking it to Wellington, if they had a big enough stadium.

The only whoosh is all the hot air growing out of your mouth

you don’t think tv ratings and memberships have improved since they played origins in Melbourne and tv ratings in Perth

playing a game which much of nz will watch will convert new fans to the game

It's almost like growing the game makes money....
Yeah, 1 game doesn't grow the game but you can't have 2 without 1... what's the number than pal ? 7 ?

Growing the game comes in many forms, like prestige, engaging, including...
Original has prestige, including nz helps them engage and grows the profile- growing the sport.

You're looking at a 3 dimensional thing from 1 side.

Well you certainly are.

WIth no NZ2 coming.
With your claim it will "will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby".
Without actually knowing anything about anything and you make that claim. It was stupid then, and with everything that's happened since, even more so.

full houses in Perth , Adelaide & 90K plus in Melb would idicate , that its a premier event in the rest of the country too
It's not the all consuming cultural juggernaut that it is in NSW and QLD.

In the context of TV ratings, press coverage etc. In Victoria and Adelaide it's below a big AFL game, but it's growing in those markets, and will get bigger.

When Bogans say Origin should only be held in QLD and NSW it misses the forest for the trees.

You're incapable of an original post. You just post the same thing over and over. Starting to think that you're a chatbot 🤔
