New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

I really don't just pointing out the neighbouring RL teams with the same geographical name
I got that. My argument was that names dating back to the 1800s are entirely unlike the concocted Sydney Tigers, Sydney Bulldogs nonsense of the 1990s. And that some Australians (Wb for example) think there should be one club in Hull.

Warriors should have remained as Auckland. Individuals in all parts of NZ will decide for themselves whether this is their NRL club. Doubt the changes in branding have any effect.

for everyone outside of Auckland they can be the NZ Warriors when they are winning and the Auckland Warriors when they lose

If a second nz team came in would warriors revert back to being called Auckland I wonder?
Believe they can’t actually go back to ‘Auckland Warriors’ without complications. When the name changed to ‘NZ Warriors’ it essentially started anew as a brand new entity and the ‘Auckland Warriors’ were dissolved with massive debt and contracts voided.
Have heard elsewhere reverting back to ‘Auckland Warriors’ would make them liable for those debts.

That sucks.

can’t they get around it by monkeying around with the name like calling themselves city of Auckland Warriors or maybe even Auckland city warriors?

having the name New Zealand next to the warriors moniker seems a bit unfair for any other New Zealand NRL team.

They should run a poll wahs winning nrl for sb winning the World Cup
Better to measure Warriors success against the rest of the NRL rather than RU in NZ. They could be as big as the Broncos.

The absence of any serious NZ2 bid suggests that many League fans are content with the All Blacks as their second team and many Union fans are content with the Warriors as their second team.

North Zealand Warriors and South Zealand Bears. Problem solved.
