What a peculiar way of looking at things you English have, so tribal, we want both to win. And the cricket for good measure. It’s about time the rugby gods shined on league and see the warriors lift the NRL trophy and the all blacks not make the rugby union World Cup final.
I kinda get that now about nz and must admit it's a far more admirable stance. What a peculiar way of looking at things you English have, so tribal, we want both to win. And the cricket for good measure.
Mate that`s all well and fine while League really poses no threat to union, but if League really started to eat into union territory I suspect attitudes would change quickly amongst die-hard supporters of union, no different to us and the threat posed by fumbleball.I kinda get that now about nz and must admit it's a far more admirable stance.
Just sitting in a bar in Christchurch- Everyone is watching the Rugby WC replays while talking about the Warriors..pretty cool.
Really had to experience that to realise how seamlessly to 2 sports coexist here

I've been saying the same thing. I'd be cool like you're either a Warriors man or Bulls whatever. The rivalry would be entrenched within nabourhoods across the country.I've said it before but the fact that so many people in Wellington and Christchurch can support what is effectively an 'Auckland' team, a second New Zealand team should also just call themselves New Zealand Orcas/Bulls/Rams etc. That way no matter where a person lives in the country, they can pick a 'New Zealand' team to support. Their games could easily be split between Wellington & Christchurch and you'd have fans all over still supporting them (like the Warriors have now).
You'd still have Warriors fans in Wellington/Christchurch, just like you'd have NZ2 fans living in Auckland. Having a second team creates a rivalry and gives more opportunities for fans to attend games outside of Auckland. With two teams I'd like to see 12 games in Auckland, at least 8 in Wellington, at least 8 in Christchurch and a couple of others in places like Hamilton etc. That would be more games in Wellington & Christchurch than what Super Rugby has. Under that scenario the entire NZ media market is essentially covered. Also the Friday 6pm EST slot would become basically a New Zealand team slot - either a Warriors home game, a NZ 2 home game or a Warriors/NZ2 away game.I've been saying the same thing. I'd be cool like you're either a Warriors man or Bulls whatever. The rivalry would be entrenched within nabourhoods across the country.

Except that's just your completely subjective opinion based on your personal beliefs on what you like in sport - it doesn't in anyway reflect the reality of fans who like both sports. Reading this post you clearly don't have the ability to conceptualise why fans like rugby. Here’s the thing
If you’re a union fan and you get into league it’s hard to go back to the other code any more
sure you will still watch the tests and some high profile club games.
imagine living your life on Diet Coke then someone gives you a taste of the real thing
That’s why super rugby crowds are collapsing or any other metric you want to look at in terms of popularityExcept that's just your completely subjective opinion based on your personal beliefs on what you like in sport - it doesn't in anyway reflect the reality of fans who like both sports. What is completely ironic is that the majority of rugby fans who you think will be instantly converted by league think it's the other way, league is Diet Coke, it's rugby but with a bunch of stuff that fans like as crucial to the game (e.g. rucks, mauls, lineouts, proper scrums, territorial battles) removed from real Coke.
None of that has any relevance to my response to you. Even your partner in crime Gob is pointing out to you that NZers are able to appreciate both games even if you personally don't and lack the ability to understand that others can. That’s why super rugby crowds are collapsing or any other metric you want to look at in terms of popularity
warriors have made a prelim final and people acting like they won the union World Cup
This is just a silly comment, this is a forum, not one of your kiddy tik toks.the best rugby players in the world are in the nrl. And that’s not even arguable
There’s no difference to the Warriors just keeping the NZ name in that exampleAotearoa warriors and South Island _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
I'm not great at phonetics. Something like: Teh Why Po(ke) Nah MooHow is it pronounced?

Aotearoa is the Māori name for the north island. There’s no difference to the Warriors just keeping the NZ name in that example
You're just being a loon/troll now. I can't believe you're actually that thick that you believe the rubbish in this post.T
this is a forum
wow
where rugby league fans can express their views
that union World Cup would struggle for first grade quality
out of the hundred of players there you might get a dozen decent first graders in rugby league
other than pushing in scrums for five minutes the core skills of kicking passing and running are dire
I’d rather watch dragons vs tigers in the nrl
