"Just another f**king Aucklander"....
With no malice 🤣
I'm sure they're cool with it 👍😂
As Te Kaha notes you really have no idea about NZ and yet rather than use this discussion to educate yourself you've decided to double down and wallow in your ignorance. Why? Why are you afraid to learn?

Because you muppet the "significant increase" is peanuts. This from the 2022 annual report.

Do some actual research before parroting bullshit. The "significant increase" in funding that the NZRL gets is only 1.5 million.

And this one shows the funding that's the districts receive to stay afloat.

Which post, when? You post so much it's hard to keep up.

Also what relevance does it have to the discussion about what Aucklanders are called?

I don't have an issue with the NRL throwing money at juniors in NZ.

How long have Aucklanders been called JAFA's? BTW I have seen the version called JAFFA, and it's worse than JAFA, I'd be banned if I posted it.
I only ask because 30 years ago in Canada that's the same nickname that the Canucks in the snowfields called Australians.

To,
The problem with these figures is some clubs got more games on Ch9 than others. The bottom five clubs got the least games on Ch9. The ones at the top got the most.

This article proves it.

Panthers1311
Roosters1311
Rabbitohs1311

to get an accurate comparison you need to do clubs by time slots and opposition over say a 5 year period. That would be much more accurate reflection than Cumulative numbers.

The NRL has shown thier hand twice now. First the 17th team was another Brisbane team to create a rival.
That's exactly what a second NZ team will do. They want rivals.
Then Andrew Abdo basically said the next team will be NZ.
Abdo had never said anything of the sort. he has only ever stated pathways and development. You’ve fallen for a masters headline lol. Newspapers love naive people like you!

Last year they got 17 games on Ch9. This year they'll get 13. It'll be interesting to see what impact it has on Ch9's ratings in Brisbane.

We need the Dolphins to be a popular team in Brisbane for the game to grow.
so a 25% reduction? Didn’t news claim they would be no broncos fta reduction?

You're overstating the have to be ABs to earn a living a bit. If that was actually the case we wouldn't be able to form any teams in Super Rugby or the NPC. Yet there are 5 Super Squads, WTG, and back up players, and then 14 NPC teams. Even a small province like mine, Hawkes Bay, has a majority of Super players so they're getting their main money there and the NPC is an add on.

As I've said previously in this thread the boom time for snatching up rugby players was when the Holden Cup was running as young guys under 20 could get a little bit of money as opposed to no money.

To give a little bit of perspective, Tohu Harris signed with the Storm after he was not offered an Academy spot with Hawkes Bay. Obviously it was clearly the right decision, I think his style is more suited to league, but I think it's reminder to not take it for granted that young rugby players all will switch to league.
But NPC teams and even some Super Rugby games don't get the crowds the NRL get.
I see most NPC highlights if I can be bothered with no one at the game compared to 30 years ago when crowds ere strong.

The arlc dramatically increased funding for juniors in nz.

it’s relevant bc it shows the arlc is committed to growing in nz and also they are going to have more kiwi players who all need a team to play for at the elite level

Funny how I showed you the actual figures from the NZRL report and you ignored them. An extra 1.5 Million, may be "significant" as a percentage, but in real terms it seriously lacks materiality.
