New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

People are so childish on here

their favourite bid is the golden child and the way to the promised land

every other bid is a disaster waiting to happen

this forum rubbished the idea of a second brisbane team

we had to copy afl and have teams in Perth or Adelaide or we would never prosper

all total bs

we could ignore Perth and Adelaide and add teams in png brisbane nz (two teams) and central coast and we would dwarf any other code

small rugby league clubs in Perth and Adelaide aren’t going to make the game grow massively

we’re already in the biggest afl market and their ability to grow our tv deals for example has been negligible

unlike the warriors whose tv deal covers their grant and makes a profit of 20 million pa

Warriors and Dolphins increase the value of the broadcast rights. A third Brisbane team will get more money from Ch9.

PNG pays itself via the government grant. If the Warriors rate well over the next few years then Sky NZ might be interested in a second NZ team.

The only way I can see Perth getting in is if they're worried about Broncos losing ground to a third Brisbane team.

Nz2 thread,
I really don’t give a f**k what you think of me, and I doubt anyone else on here does either. Discuss the topics not the posters you dckwad.

all options have their strengths and weaknesses , as non of us on here are privy to their potential bid models we are all just pssing in the wind and giving our opinions.

You want yet another brisbane club, I get it. I want a perth club. Muga what’s a png club, Wb wants a nz2 club, we all have our biases Ffs

For me as long as club 18 isnt another nsw or qlnd club then it’s a positive for expansion and growing new markets. I want it to be perth for personal reasons and also because I think there’s never been abetter time to have a club here with the wa govt support,

when you make an opinion and state it as fact, as you and Wb are prone to do all the time, then you’re going to get shot at, especially when theres evidence that would suggest you’re taking bs.
Actually what I want is all of the above bids, but i just know which is realistically going to happen, the current administration is so predictable, and the rest of the clubs are too in regards to expansion, that only now with the way PVL has streamlined the amount given to each club via the player costs and coaching costs, adding more teams is now easier and becomes more fruitful for every club, with each broadcast cycle when before it was all about the unknown factors of which bid wins and how much funding they consume aswell as player depth, well we basically know now, and we should see a new team or two every 5 seasons, tlll the greed swells down to common sense

How long does PNG pay for itself? A change in Prime Minister away from no funding.

Still the biggie that no one can answer or even give a reasonable and valid giess at. Can a png club generate $15mill plus of fc revenue when the govt money runs out?

To do that they’ll need a much better stadium and 15k plus fanbase that can afford $30-80 a ticket. plus 5-7 companies willing to pay big sponsorship $’s. Looking at the test crowds that doesn’t seem likely.

Kiwis vs Australia 2 weeks in a row.
If the Kiwis put in 2 great performances, nz2 will get a big consideration due to the massive talent alone!

Why aren't Fiji part of the conversation...?
Imagine the next 3 teams being:
South Island
PNG
Fiji

O but we won't be a national comp lmao

Storm could afford to, they had rich owners, then nrl tipping In.
But again You’re deflecting from the question. A club in melbourne and a club in png are two very different things.

yes they do, I’m asking how will the glaringly obvious license threatening one of revenue generation post govt money will be solved for png? Your in favour of png so how do you think they will become financially viable?

How? saying it doesn’t make it so!
Do you think there are the corporate partners in png, not just one or two but the 5-7 big sponsors and 20 or so smaller sponsors a nrl club in australia has? Do you think they will get a new stadium giving them the capacity and corporate facilities of melbourne? Do you think they can get 18k crowd avg paying nrl ticket prices? Do you think they can sell $1.5mill plus of merch a year?

if you believe that is true why do they need $20mill a year for ten years?
