I probably know a bit more than you realise but given your response it doesn’t really matter. You really need to tone it down. People are entitled to a different opinion. Looking through this thread yours is one of relentless negativity. We’ll see over time.

Sure you do. That's why you categorise my posts as "negative" rather than "reality". If you actually did know anything about NZ League you wouldn't.
All opinions are invalid. Facts are the only thing that matter.
And I don't need to "tone" anything down.

Money buddy money

the issue isn’t can the nrl take over in nz

the question is whether it’s prepared to put the effort into doing it

for 20 years the nrl has basically stood still after the super league war

now it’s growing again and it’s leaders have said they want to grow a lot in nz and the pacific

nrl clubs and players have never gotten as much money as they do today

and guess what it’s going up in a few years again

nrl will turn over 640 million this year and in five years probably a billion dollars a year

the nrl salary cap will start at 12.5 million next year with clubs receding 17.5 million

the game is dripping in money and a desire to expand in nz

meanwhile super rugby is struggling big time

seems pretty obvious to me what’s going to happen even without another nz nrl team
Lol, I see you've now put an asterisk to your grandiose claims based on whether the NRL wants to do it.

You've also avoided answering any of my three questions in any meaningful way. Come on man show us that you can have a rational discussion as well as troll.

I just did

when the nrl salary cap goes to 15 million whilst super rugby stays the same then raiding nz playing base is an economic reality

all this is simple economics

by going professional union now has to compete with league on money

How can you be a moderator of a site yet be intolerant of others opinions? My opinion, which I am entitled to, is that you are relentlessly negative. That’s a fact.

Is there any other option to be negative when so many of the posts he's responding to have completely unrealistic ideas about the state of league in NZ?

I'd much rather have a rational discussion about ways to improve league in NZ but instead we're in a cycle of responding to repetitive unrealistic ideas based on "I like league better" (and yes I'm fully aware I could just bug out of this thread, but it is somewhat entertaining to see posters just double and triple down on a limited understanding of league in NZ).
I’m trying to have a rational discussion but old mate can’t cope lol

See there you go again making assumptions. I did not say you weren't entitled to an opinion, I just said they don't matter. It's clear, despite your claim that you don't know anything about NZ League, yet you feel qualified to comment on it. Just like the other ignorant, arrogant Australians.

No you didn't.

Theoretically the NRL can raid the NZ playing base now, the average salary is already higher, but they're not making much of a dent at all, but, it's not binary between NRL or Super, it's NRL v world rugby. There are hundreds of NZers spread about the rugby comps throughout the world.

Once again making ignorant assumptions. Super rugby in NZ doesn't have a salary cap so how can it possibly stay the same?

Not just now sunshine

we are redoing the tv deal by adding another team

we are due for a big jump in revenue and the salary cap

if you were paying attention to nrl discussion you would know this

that’s what I meant before about you not knowing much about the nrl

No its the lies, assumptions and stupid you state as fact.

No you aren't. You are commenting on things you don't know about.
Interesting approach for a moderator to take. ‘I’m right. You’re wrong. Shut up!’ Novel.

And I posted before how France and Japan are getting flooded with offcasts from English union so they don’t have the space for more players form nz

It's not that I hate Union.
It's like that first sip of Coke that you realised you got diet coke kinda thing.

If all there was, was diet Coke I'd probably kinda enjoy it 🤷‍♂️

But it like that first sip expecting real Coke, then getting diet Coke. In that moment you hate it..

Union is like diet Coke without the weight loss . Compared to real Coke ( Rugby league)
I hate it 🤷‍♂️

I'm only right when I am. So far you haven't been right about anything.

And I posted before how France and Japan are getting flooded with offcasts from English union so they don’t have the space for more players form nz

Again, you make assumptions based on fact. France Japan will always pay for quality players, so any influx for ex English players won't make a difference to them wanting NZ players.

You think you're struggling to have a rational discussion? This is the type of response we have to deal with constantly. There's no substance. There's no actual refutation of any points made, no response to questions asked, just ranting about how much money might come and an accusation that I know nothing about the NRL despite the fact I'm posting on an NRL forum.
