Remember when that union troll said the Auckland council was broke and would never pay for events

then they just paid to host the pacific cup final and the game at Eden park

I’ve found that our union loving friends just post whatever bs they want which is devoid from reality

it’s good to have a league fan on the ground who reports the real situation for us
Did they? Link? How much? I thought the aus govt has paid for it?

The trouble is that died in the wool Union fans don't want to see the truth- I get it! They love the sport, played the sport, and thier friends were made playing the sport. They won't see things how they are.
Most of it actually comes from a good place. They wouldn't hold League back and they can't except this thing that gave them such joy would be in decline.
It's a tough position to be in.
Casual fans however... up the wahs 🤷‍♂️
Dyed in the wool union fans will be the white guys over 40

in the younger demographic we would dominate now imo

At least you see the decline.
It's in decline.
NRL is growing.
Do the math
The NRL isn't going to grow in NZ to where you think it will regardless of the 5 weeks of listening to talkback and watching rugby in pubs in Chch.

To reference your post above as a long term Warriors/league fan I'm more concerned with the team and sport not completely falling apart again like it has regularly after bumper periods. I'm less concerned with where NZ rugby is than I am with the Warriors maintaining their standards in the coming years (without getting into the embarrassment that is NZ league fans lack of support for the Kiwis ... but I've always been country over club).

They're more over 60 actually. 40 year olds are jumping on . Actually hung out with a 55 year old who admitted that the Warriors have caught his attention and now sees Union as boring- these are regular conversations I'm having with people here.
In all honesty- the average kiwi is smarter and more wity than the average Aussie.
I love it here, I've decided to stay.

Mate. The kiwis will beat Australia 2 weeks in a row and start dominating.
Their team is fire.
Watch.

On Social media I rarely see kiwis posting about the World Cup

when the wahs were playing you could find hundreds of videos

The wc has been good. Close games but the reality is that it's nothing new.. they've climbed this mountain 4 times before.
Warriors, Kiwis and another NZ team is a new pinnacle to climb.

I predict in 5 years time you'll be the biggest Crusaders supporter around. ;)

I hope so. I'm still annoyed with some of the reffing in the semi final last year.
I was disappointed in how Madge managed the rotation- he butchered it.
Leota and Harris should have been in tandem like the won the comp for the Panthers, then left the cheeze on too long- that cost them more than the ref.
However, I've got Time for Madge as he seems to realise the errors of his ways. Choosing a great time and rotation was on point vs Samoa.
The Kiwis are improving! And so is their coach! Watch this space!

I've settled on Dunedin because of it's unbelievably cool music scene and the general feal of an edgey historical place that hasn't yet been gentrified.
So I'll be the Highlanders lol
The Highlanders are a good team to support, they wont win much but better than the evil Crusaders.

I'm more interested in the music here.
There'll be plenty of league on tv 😁
Dunedin is too cold for me but lots of my mates went their for Uni and a couple stayed on so I've been down a decent amount. But I was unaware there was still a thriving music scene down there. It's quite a few years removed from the classic Dunedin sound of the 80s.
