New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Because thats what they felt it was worth to them and they know thats what NRL will accept. It was $20mill for many years, went up to $32mill this deal (cash not known) purely because of spark rival bidding.

To think they will be happy to increase it by a further 40% on this big increase just because of a second NZ team is fanciful at best. It fits peoples narrative and justifications on here but in reality is highly unlikely, unless there is a rival bidder.

Is it any more fanciful than your claim that the NRL's revenue stream will be forever behind AwFuL unless it adds teams in Adelaide and Perth within a decade?

i know manly and Canterbury have formed formal links with nz regions, any othe nrl clubs doing this? If they revamp and improve the nz comp is that an opportunity for more partnership arrangements with nrl clubs?

the biggest thing for nz2 would now be for warriors to have a solid run of a few years at the top and kiwis to beat Australia regularly. We’ve seen many false dawns in nz.

Playing it in NZ every second year is hardly changing it, it’s still the same fixture on the same date, just not giving one team permanent home advantage.
chabging the opponent would be a bigger change
It's the only fixture Melbourne get near capacity, so it's just a bit of a shame for them. I'd be pumped if they take it to Eden Park and that's near capacity.

So Rugby league! Something is successful,.. let's change it 🤦‍♂️

Blame the Warriors for this one…. Cameron George has been complaining about always playing the Anzac game away …must have heard him say this in interviews 2-3 times this past season …

Strange they have done that this past season when they attracted pretty good crowds anyway…

It’s the only Melbourne game that goes close to selling out … the Warriors sold out a number of games this year …

It might be more fairer … but it’s not in the games best interest…IMO
