I'm just putting it out there but anyone think Sione should model his game on Taumololo's?
Sione isn't the biggest backrower but runs great lines and I think he could be the impact player we have been looking for, or one of them. Instead of waiting for the ball on the fringes, I would love to see him get the ball off the player makes running into holes or running hard at the oppositions halves all game. Hopefully Moga is good to go next season because I wanna see Sione really play go his potential.

Or should I just go back to watching my SBW highlights on YouTube?

Ive been thinking the same thing. I reference Steve Simpson and Nathan Hindmash, but its effectively the same thing.

A small, quick backrower running on the edges and catching out the halves/centres. IIRC Sione has a decent offload too, doesnt he. Thats probably the best place to be using it.

Exact same, but I’d swap Herman and Glasby

Glasby would be on my bench instead of Buhrer/Barney. Honestly Glasby would only come into play for me in a real way if defense is still a huge issue for us next year. I wouldn't default to him, though. I just don't rate the guy... but I guess he probably does all that off-the-ball shit well or something.

Swap Dan and Glasby. I want us to blow sides off the park in the first 20. Dan, Klemmer and Ese can do that.
yep agree, its when the bench comes on we lose ascendancy/momentum. We need another impact front rower and we're good to go. Jsaf isnt quite there yet.

With a big off season (injury free hopefully) I think Jacob could fill that role. Who knows maybe Klemmer will inspire a few of the young blokes like Saulo or even King.

As for Newcastle, Ennis believed they’d become a genuine title threat should they snare Klemmer.

“I’ve got massive raps on Mitch Barnett at lock and Lachlan Fitzgibbon has emerged as a real strike weapon,” he said.

“Kalyn Ponga will be another year in and Mitchell Pearce will be really hungry for a premiership now that he’s coming to an important time in his career when halfbacks play their best football.

“They’ve got a really good side up there and Nathan Brown has publicly spoken about wanting a couple of big guys up front. They wanted a worker and they wanted some power, and they get that in Klemmer and Glasby.

“It’s a really important — and a good time — for Newcastle.”

My concern is Moga, his Knees seem to be made of balsa wood. would like another centre ready to go.

If we get all three of the Jennings brothers, how much cap space you guys reckon they will take up? Would we still have space after Klemmer and the Jennings Brothers for a decent hooker?
George Jennings just signed for 2 years at Parra, announced yesterday.

Another poster (sorry, I've forgotten your name) proposed looking at Hayne as an option at centre. What do you think?
Overall, I'd prefer Jennings but if Hayne's mind is on the job he could be amazing for us.

I've read some stats, watched some melb games and thought about it a bit more and I agree.
I think Dan, Klem, Ese'ese can lay that platform and Glasby, Jacob can hold the fort. Having watched a few games of Glasby now, I think he is the least likely of our middles to have a bad game (bar maybe Klem). His best isn't anywhere near Dan or Ese'ese but he'll make up for that deficit with reliability.

Would not have the bloke near the place.

Assuming Klemmer signs, I think the starting props will be Klemmer and Glasby with Herman at lock. Dan providing impact off the bench with Jacob or another signing.

I'm most excited about what the new signings could mean for Herman. He's more skilful than just the battering ram prop that we saw last year (as good as he was at that) and I think playing off the back of two proven experienced props will open his game up and we'll see more of his footwork at the line and offloads.

I just posted the same thing in another thread.

I'd go for Hayne over Jennings ( depending on price of course ) Hayne would give us plenty of options, including FB ( if Ponga goes to 5/8) , centre and wing. He's a quality player just not sure if I'd want the side show he brings with him. I dont believe half the crap I read about the guy, most likely a media beat up same as Thurston being an immortal.
