8. Cross
9. DeGois
10. Mark T
11. House
12. Taia
13. Simpson

14. Hilder
15. Patto
16. Faas
17. Wicks

It is fair to suggest that during most periods of the season you expect one starting minutes prop and one bench impact prop to go down.

ET to replace impact.
Tolar to replace starting prop.

With Simpson more and more prone to injury, Hilder to start at 13 and Marv to come onto the bench.

Sounds reasonable Pika.

I'm pretty comfortable with that situation.

Difficult for Ciraldo to get a look in even if he did re-sign. Wonder how that is going to pan out...

The best thing about this signing is we haven't paid overs as the Herald is reporting he's on an incentive based deal

Thats a good pack plus depth. Especially seeing that's still not including guys like Tovo, Mika and Ciraldo if we re-sign him, who all have FG experience.

Yep. The worst part about that, is INCENTIVE DEALS for players is just a nice term for the real meaning behind accepting such a deal - no one else wants you.

Cant believe people are writing off Taufua. He would be just behind Faas for grading this season.

Keeping a soon to be 36 year old who doesn't know when to retire has cost them two quality props. Cleary is deadset a woeful recruiter and talent spotter. As goodas price is going he is on 400 KI plus a season at his age. They paid Wiki even more. That is insanity. The Warriors are going to struggle for some time to come.

This signing gives us a lot of depth in the front row. Moving Houston to prop has worked pretty well, but it isnt the answer, we really need Houston and Patterson to dominate the league next year on the fringe with Taia at lock. That means, our front row rotation need to shift Houston out, its a smart move imo. Plus we need a spare no matter what, I honestly cant believe we made the 8 given we lost Tolar and Cross for the season almost immediatly.

That really is a throw away line.

It depends on the incentive based contract which could be he gets very good coin if he delivers which no doubt based on past performances he will.

It is a shame that more players are not on incentive based contracts where they have to deliver to get top coin instead of some players getting too much money without delivering the goods. Wicks, Little Doogs and that past hack Reynoldson come vivldly to mind.

Great signing and a great contract deal for the knights.

Price is a wonderful player, but at 36 he is really starting to push his luck. No matter how fit you are your legs start to go on you at that age and when it happens it happens very quickly, the next thing you know your getting run around by every player in the comp...its why most sides tend to err on the side youth. I dont think much of cleary as a coach, I am still trying to understand how on earth they let Cooper Vuna leave. To me he is just a chinese guy saying clearly.

I think Zeb has been outstanding on the edges this year and has secured his spot as our number one edge back rower.

He has been devastatiing on the edges and much more value there than at lock.

I dont see him playing lock with Simpson and Houston more likely to fill the roll, and Simpson probably the preferred as our best middle defender.

I think Taia House and Simpson will be our first three choice back rowers with Hilder off the bench to lock and Simpson back to an edge if either House or Zeb are injured.

Unless injury hits the front row hard (and we now have ET as further cover), or two back rowers go down, I can only see Patto off the bench.

I know Pato hasn't been at his best this year for obvious reasons but at his best he's in front of Houston for mine and if he gets back to that level having him and Zeb on the edge either side would give teams nightmares and this is before Sau and Doogs even touch the ball!
Whatever happens we've got massive depth next year and I can see a top 4 finish if thing go our way

To be honest, Houses time in the middle has only made him a more tough and uncomprimising edge player. He has not lost his tank and has not gained weight.

I see them on even par in attack, with House leaving Patto for dead in the defence department.

Sometimes I think people under rate defence. I guess it is easy to admire line breaks and offloads and it is not hard to see the immediate contribution to the side when this happens.

But defence is just as important, and often under rated.

While Patto is not a bad defender, the role of edge back rowers is about as tough as it comes in modern NRL.

With fast running centres on the outside shoulder and hard running back rowers on your inside it is often a nightmare. Added to the fact that you are often baby sitting Mullen or Scotty....

Zeb and Simpson make those two look so much better in defence.

Its an uncomfortable feeling in the coaches box when you hold your breath if its not Simpson and Zeb out there everytime a team has even numbers and spreads the ball. There is a massive security when Simpson is out there on the edge, same with Zeb, and that security is lost when it is Patto on the edge.

Remeber he is still just a kid, and will improve as the years go on. I have no doubt if he can control his medical problems he has the potential to be one of the best back rowers at the Club, if not the competition.

I remember last year whn Pato was hitting blokes like a sledge hammer, I think that part of his game should slowly come back the more games he strings together. Potentially Pato could finish his career as the best backrower to have played for this club such is his ability and here's hoping he can put the depression behind him and get back to his best next year.
BTW how funny was it seeing Walshy playing push and shove with Pato, talk about fighting outside your weight class

House could be the most sort after forward in the market next season. I hope Burro has a plan to keep this kid. He is awesome. His skills are the best of any forward in the comp. The pass for Mullo's try was that of a running halfback.

In regards to Tui, I think it was that Canberra game where the Warriors ran riot throwing the ball around like the Harlem Globetrotters that I remember him best for. He was playing a major role in that. Will be interesting how he moves on from after his neck injury. A change of club may bring the back the best in him. Handy goalkicker too if I remember correctly. Not a great signing, but not a bad one either
