Genuine question, who would want to coach the Tiges?

And I'm not being a hater, I said the same thing about us a few years ago when it looked like we were careers went to die. But we don't have 2 decades of mediocrity behind us
I’d do it for 18 months.

10+ years of current wage to get the same result as the apparent professionals.

Probably anyone who wants to get a foot in the door. The Walker brothers were keen AF a couple of years ago but no one would give them a go. Are they still interested? Who knows, but I reckon if the tigers asked they'd seriously consider it. Same probably goes for many current or recently former Qld cup, NSW cup and maybe Super League coaches too.
They want to be 1st grade coaches or nothing even though they're not coaching anywhere working as real estate agents in Toowoomba
If they're legitimately serious they talk to Bennett about being his assistants b4 he's able to get his claws on burgess

The thing that saves Adam O'Brien is the decision to give him that 3 year contact extension last year. He's under contract till the end of 2027. Thus sacking him at the end of this season would mean paying him out for 3 years, which in anyone's language would be a lot of doh.

Current nrl coaches worse than Madge

Webster?

Walter’s aob and Webster are gone if their teams don’t have stellar years next year or maybe during the off season

There's still a lot of goodwill on Webster from last years run to the prelim final, and this year I think we have been the team officially most affected by injuries (in terms of numbers of games missed by top players) so definitely won't be cast off in the off season, questionable coaching selections and game day tactics this season aside.

And we haven't achieved much the last few years from the coach merry-go-round so he will get at the very least a couple more full seasons to prove his worth I would think unless we tumble to wooden spoon contenders again.

Knights aren’t too bad a side

Maybe osullivan clean out gives them a new lease of life

ponga should play in the halves imo he doesn’t get enough good ball at fullback in this side

Crossland was useless at nine moving him is a big improvement

Benji is literally only in the position due to a hail mary scheme cooked up by the clubs incompetent previous management.

At least a hail mary has a small percent chance of working, Benji as the Tigers head coach after 5 months as an assistant is potentially the worst coaching assignment of all time in the NRL and was never going to work. If it isn't the worst I'm struggling to think of anything else.

The entire coaching staff over there has just 71 games of head coaching experience between them, the majority coming from John Morris. How are they expected to compete with anyone with such an inexperienced and unsuccessful coaching line up?

Genuine question, who would want to coach the Tiges?

Either a coach looking to get back into the swing of things or one looking to prove themselves, a name immediately coming to mind is Brad Arthur, he's over at Leeds right now, rumoured to be taking the assistant coaching job at the Knights, he'd be a huge upgrade on Benji even though he's a middle of the road coach.

Alternatively maybe the Tigers just throw huge money and overpay a head coach with a reputation, nothing will change until they have people in charge who know what they're doing so maybe take 2.0 - 2.5 million dollars a season and offer it up to a Robinson, Bennett or Bellamy, maybe one of them is motivated enough by money to take the gig and change the team around, probably not but it's better than Benji...

I think you will find that Brad Arthur will end up being the WA Bears first coach for 2027, meaning he'll be over here working from 2026 getting his team and staff sorted.
