PNG has two tv broadcasters. EMTV is the only commercial broadcaster - owned by Telekom since 2015 - and they generated 6 million in revenue in 2014. The only other TV broadcaster is the state owned NBC so maybe they'll pony up. Either way I wouldnt expect big dollars.
Serious reply to the above post is that its absolutely right. There is no money in PNG.

Devices are where it's at these days. Who knows what telco might sign for exclusive rights. A whole nation with phones wanting to watch the footy.

Can anyone in Australia turn on a TV and get NRL?

If the answer is no then TV rights shouldn't be discussed.... sorry ch10 get your shit together then come and chat

Again money is secondary for me.

Storm played on Saturday afternoon IF ch10 had the rights certain parts of Victoria wouldn't be able to see the game on FTA.

WA are coming in. A similar problem exists in WA with no ch10 regional service. The code will quickly go backwards if people can't watch it

Meanwhile in NZ, this article from The Spinoff looks at the recent trend of sports moving out of Sky's paywall and onto FTA TV.

The NRL needs to consider this trend, and IMO ensure FTA requirements are hard-coded into the next arrangement - or else we could be left behind - and left to the whims of Sky.
